Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I like to keep pricing pretty simple - my quote is based on the date, location, and time - I don't like to make it confusing with a bunch of different add-ons or package options that require extra money - my quote is for my best services tailored to your specific event.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I send some planning paperwork to get some ideas started for the ceremony, reception, music styles - I'm happy to meet to discuss the details or we can do it via email, phone, zoom, facetime - your preference. If you use Spotify or Tidal, I am happy to use your playlist/s - no problem! I will play the music that you want - it is your day!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have worked at a handful of radio stations around Central Ohio, and have experience playing all types of music. I have a Communications degree from OU. But most importantly, I have provided music for hundreds of weddings over the years and will help your event go as smooth as possible.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always loved music and I'm not much of a dancer :) so I provided the music for all of my friend's party's when I was younger - it just kept on going and growing.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Mostly I DJ wedding receptions - I also provide mobile music and PA services at several annual corporate and community events. I have provided services for Over The Edge for GraceHaven-Columbus (8yrs), Over The Edge DC for HelpingHaitianAngels.org (2yrs), Upward Sports (9yrs), and Fairfield Co Ohio Fair (16 yrs).

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Sometimes the first time I meet the bride and groom face-to-face is on their big day - at their wedding! However, I work hard at making sure I know their music requests and have a decent idea of the flow of the day, so that they can relax and enjoy the day. I love to read a good review afterwards and know that they were happy with their choice of DJ!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
A good DJ playing the perfect music at the right time will make the food tastier, the cake sweeter, the photos sharper, the champagne smoother, the parents prouder, the groom calmer, and most importantly the bride happier!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Regardless of how good your wedding DJ is - the bride and groom really set the tone for dancing at their reception - guests will always follow the bride and groom on the dance floor - especially early in the reception.
