Here are some very important questions to ask a DJ when hiring for your event: ( My answers are listed ) Do You Have Backup Equipment and DJ's? Yes we do *Even professional audio equipment can fail on occasion, don't let this put an early end to your event. Make sure there is backup equipment and be sure there is a back-up DJ should an emergency or illness occur. We will always show up. Our reputation and professionalism is at stake. Do you carry liability insurance> Yes i do *Many high end venues require that all vendors carry at least a 1,000,000 liability policy. We are covered, however most dj's aren't, and this is very important. Is Your Equipment of Professional Quality ? Yes it is. *There is a difference between home audio and professional road-worthy equipment. The equipment a DJ uses should be built to go on the road each and every day! I have an investment of over $250,000 just in my system and music. I have 2 other sets of equipment and 2 DJ's for emergencies. Will You Listen To My Music Suggestions? Yes, of course *Many DJ's are of the opinion that they know what music is best for their audience and won't take requests. DJ Mad Maxx will listen to requests and play them whenever appropriate. Will You Dress Appropriately at My Affair? Yes, Always in a Tux for weddings *It is important that your entertainer look the part by dressing formal or semi-formal, according to your preference. Themed events and picnics require different attire. Will You Play The Music At An Appropriate Level? Yes *The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level of the music. A professional DJ knows to keep the volume at a level appropriate for the guests, especially during cocktails and the dinner hour. Do You Do More Than Just Play Music at the Affair? Yes *Most affairs involve more than playing music. It is important to have a DJ who is capable of playing the music, handling all of the announcements and helps to coordinate the event. Will You Listen to My Concerns and Input? Yes *A professional DJ is aware that they can't possibly know every aspect of music and entertainment. Your input and suggestions will be welcome! Will It Be DJ Mad Maxx At My Wedding? Yes *If You Book My services, you will get me personally. If i am already booked i can refer you to my Staff DJ's. Some other companies book weddings and don't have the staff to cover them or send a rookie to do the professionals job. Do you charge for travel? No, We travel anywhere within 120 miles of DuBois. After 120 miles we add a fuel surcharge. Do you charge for setup and teardown time? No, we do not. Our contracts start when the crowd arrives. Is you music library legal? Yes. we own our CD's that are now on our hard drives and subscribe to legal music services for our current music. Unfortunately a vast majority of dj's have illegally downloaded all or most of their libraries. It is illegal, unprofessional and unethical. Because we are the areas only full time DJ service, we can provide the service and excellence that no other DJ can hope to provide. Always go with experience and professionalism.
