Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We charge $750/hour for quartet services, with a minimum booking time of one hour. To see the complete overview of our pricing for quartet services and other group types (solo, duo, trio, and quintet services), check out the pricing page on our website.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We like to start by talking with our clients to get an idea of what they are looking for, what type of event they are hosting, and what their musical needs might be! After chatting and sending a quote, we will get back to you within 1-2 business days with a contract & other information on how to proceed with the booking.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Each member of our quartet has university and real-wold experience performing in chamber music settings! The four of us graduated from Utah Valley University together, where we participated in various musical events, recitals, and orchestras as both solo and ensemble players. Two members of our group are also working towards their Master's Degrees in String Performance and Pedagogy, set to graduate in Spring 2025.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
For me personally, I got started with the cello in middle school when I became enchanted with the deep tones and wide range of the instrument. I had always loved music as a kid and had trained in both piano and classical guitar, but it never felt like enough. There came a point when I remember falling in love with string instruments and I told my parents I HAD to learn the cello... pretty please! Something about it seemed so magical. At 11 years old, I picked up the instrument for the first time -- and I haven't been able to put it down since! Our group began playing quartet music together in college.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Right now, we are available to book for the following occasions: - Wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, luncheons, and receptions - Wedding cocktail hour music - Corporate dinners and parties - Birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events - Funerals - Live community events - and more!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We are proud of all of our "projects" and love the thrill of learning new pieces of music! There's something really exciting about tackling a challenging piece and making it sound magical. One such instance was when we learned Antonín Dvořák's String Quintet no. 2 in G major, Op. 77 last summer and had the opportunity to perform that piece in a Salt Lake City Chamber Music recital!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When looking to hire a string quartet, always be sure to ask for a custom quote! Quotes will vary depending on the event location, length of playing time, whether or not custom songs are requested, and much more. Discounts for active-duty military personnel, students, and first responders may also apply! Don't be afraid to reach out to us and ask for a custom quote, either on Thumbtack or by visiting our website. The quickest way to get in touch with our quartet is to fill out a quote request form through our website.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
