What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on the type of ceremony, location, and any additional services you may need, such as help with the marriage license. I offer different packages to suit various needs, and I work with each couple to ensure the ceremony aligns with their budget. Transparent pricing is important to me, so there are no hidden fees—everything is discussed upfront to avoid surprises.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, the first step is usually a consultation to get to know each couple and their vision for the ceremony. During this time, we discuss their preferences, any special requests, and their love story. Once we’ve established the details, I craft a personalized ceremony that reflects their values and style. For couples also needing a marriage license, I guide them through the legal requirements to ensure everything is in place. After that, we finalize the details, and I perform the ceremony on their big day, making sure everything runs smoothly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified wedding officiant, having completed the required training and certification through a reputable organization. This includes knowledge of marriage laws and best practices for conducting ceremonies. I also stay updated on local regulations regarding marriage licenses to ensure couples have the smoothest experience possible. I am also an authorized notary to provide confidential marriage licenses in the state of California. My training has equipped me to create personalized, meaningful ceremonies and guide couples through the legal side of marriage.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It all started at a close friend’s wedding. While watching them exchange vows, I realized the ceremony felt impersonal, and I thought, I could make this better. I’ve always been passionate about love stories, and I knew I could offer couples something more meaningful.
I decided to become a wedding officiant, combining my love for people with my desire to help create memorable moments. I also recognized that many couples were stressed about the legal side of marriage, so I made it a point to help them through both the ceremony and the marriage license process.
What started as a small idea has grown into a fulfilling business, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help couples begin their journey together with ease, love, and personal touch.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with a diverse range of couples, from those planning intimate, low-key ceremonies to larger, more elaborate weddings. Whether it’s couples who want a traditional ceremony or those looking for something personalized and unique, my focus is on creating a meaningful experience tailored to each couple’s preferences and values. I’ve also assisted many couples who are navigating the marriage license process for the first time and need guidance along the way.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of my favorite recent projects was a wedding at my venue, where the couple wanted a unique, modern ceremony. They had a vision of an elegant, yet relaxed atmosphere with a touch of humor, and we were able to bring that to life through personalized vows and special touches that reflected their personalities. It was a beautiful, intimate gathering with close friends and family. The entire process took about a month from the initial consultation to the ceremony, and seeing their faces light up as they exchanged vows made it all the more rewarding.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring an officiant, it’s crucial to find someone you feel comfortable with, who listens to your story and personalizes the ceremony. Make sure they are properly ordained and knowledgeable about local marriage laws. Ask about their ceremony style to ensure it matches your vision, and if you need help with the marriage license, look for someone who can guide you through the legal process smoothly.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before reaching out, customers should think about the following:
What type of ceremony do you envision? (Traditional, modern, spiritual, non-religious, etc.)
Do you have any specific vows or readings in mind?
What are your preferred dates and locations for the ceremony?
Do you need help with the marriage license process or just the ceremony itself?
What is your budget for officiating services?
