What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My price normally includes the driving to and from the location. I usually work within the bay area and the north bay, where I live, but I am happy to travel further

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After my bid is accepted, I contact the happy couple with via email or telephone to send them some ideas on how the ceremony will take place. I also want to get to know more about them and their love story as every ceremony is crafted to share emotions, ideas and thoughts the couples have.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been doing weddings for over 5 years. In my other job, I do a lot of presentations to community organizations and the ability to speak in public and share ideas with groups is key.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started as a county clerk a few years ago and I performed ceremonies every day. After I left that job, I only performed a few ceremonies a year for close friends and some referrals. I decided to get my name out there more and I have been very happy helping couples express their feelings via vows and also help them make their big day a beautiful experience.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have performed ceremonies for many great couples, every couple wants their own spin in the ceremony. I am very happy to make sure their ceremony will meet all of their wishes. I have worked with same sex couples as well, I am very happy to perform ceremonies for couples who are in love and ready to be married.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A few months ago a groom didn't know how to express his emotions. So we had a two hour call and he told me everything he wanted to say and I helped him put all of his thoughts and feelings into a retrospective speech about their love. When he said those words on the ceremony, very few eyes were dry as he spoke with such emotion and was a beautiful moment.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Hire someone who you connect with. They will be there in your biggest day, telling your love story and they must be someone whom you are comfortable being there, even if the ceremony will only take 30 minutes, those are very tense minutes for couples, so they need to be at ease, confident a professional will be there. I want for couples to feel that they have a friend with them at the altar.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I always ensure I list what is included and the additional charges that might come up. Ensure the price you are quoted will be the final price. I always give out contract agreements to be sure both parties are covered and no one feels taken advantage of.
