What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start by getting to know the couple — what brought you to this moment, what your story is, and what your hopes are for the ceremony and beyond. I believe that creating a meaningful and memorable ceremony requires truly understanding your journey, values, and vision.
From there, we’ll collaborate closely as I write a personalized script that reflects who you are. I’ll guide you every step of the way, so you feel supported, heard, and excited from start to finish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church Monastery, legally authorized to perform weddings in the State of California. Beyond formal ordination, I’ve invested years in deepening my skills through experience, continuous learning, and personal study in ceremony writing, public speaking, and spiritual guidance.
I also bring a background in creative writing and storytelling, which helps me craft heartfelt and unique scripts for every couple. My bilingual fluency in English and Spanish allows me to serve a wide range of families and cultural traditions with respect and care.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was originally encouraged by friends who saw something in me — the ability to speak from the heart, connect with people, and create meaningful moments. They believed I had what it takes to take this work to another level, and I’m so glad I listened.
What started as a one-time favor quickly became a true calling. I found joy in helping couples feel seen, celebrated, and supported on one of the most important days of their lives. Now, officiating weddings is not just something I do — it’s something I love.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve had the joy of working with couples from a wide variety of cultures, faith traditions, and backgrounds — including interfaith, multicultural, non-religious, and spiritual. I pride myself on being adaptable and respectful of each couple’s unique values and traditions.
When it comes to culture, I go the extra mile — I research customs, learn about symbolic elements, and even make the effort to learn a few words in another language to help everyone feel seen, welcomed, and honored.
Every love story is different, and I embrace the opportunity to celebrate them all with authenticity and heart.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project I’m especially fond of was a wedding that incorporated a Vietnamese tea ceremony. It was a new experience for me, and I took the time to research the cultural significance and traditions involved so I could honor them with care and respect.
At first, I felt a little outside my comfort zone, but with preparation and a genuine desire to do it right, everything came together beautifully. In the end, the couple and their families were deeply moved and grateful — and so was I. It reminded me why I love this work so much: creating meaningful moments that bring people and cultures together.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Take the time to find someone who truly listens to you and respects your vision. Your officiant sets the tone for one of the most important moments of your life, so it’s important to feel comfortable and understood.
Look for someone who is not only legally qualified, but also emotionally present — someone who will personalize the ceremony, communicate clearly, and help you feel supported every step of the way.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, read reviews, and trust your instincts. The right officiant will make your ceremony feel authentic, joyful, and unforgettable.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before speaking with an officiant, it helps to reflect on a few key questions:
What kind of ceremony do we want? (Religious, spiritual, civil, bilingual, cultural, humorous, romantic?)
What values or themes do we want to include?
Are there any cultural or family traditions we’d like to honor?
Do we want to write our own vows?
How involved do we want the officiant to be in the planning process?
What tone or mood are we hoping to create? (Formal, lighthearted, heartfelt, etc.)
Having clarity on these questions helps both you and your officiant build a ceremony that’s personal, meaningful, and true to your story.
