Introduction

I love officiating weddings! You will see in my reviews how satisfied my customers have been. I have over 125 five-star reviews! Only two reviews are less than five stars, and one is from a guy who canceled his wedding at the last moment. I have had all five-star reviews since October 2018. If you're looking for an officiant who understands the importance of not breaking the bank on your wedding day, you've come to the right place. My prices are negotiable and among the lowest in the region. I firmly believe that weddings shouldn't bankrupt the newlyweds. I also believe that meeting the officiant before the wedding is crucial. It's an opportunity for you to understand why I love officiating weddings and why my reviews are outstanding. Most of the time, a Zoom or FaceTime session will be suitable for a meeting. Also, I specialize in places for a couple to elope, taking advantage of Colorado's beauty for a no-charge venue. Also, please include the location of the wedding in your request rather than your own location. That way, you will get officiants willing to serve you where the wedding is located. I'm a Couple's Choice Award Winner on another site.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am always willing to listen to people who have circumstances that might require lowering my fees. I strongly believe that wedding costs should not be painful, so I purposely set my costs at the low end of the spectrum. Working with a website like Thumbtack can be challenging, as I am charged for all the folks who contact me, even if I am not hired, so making any profits can be difficult. That's why I ask folks to contact me through my website.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I share a few good websites with my customers with wedding vows. I also spend a great deal of time just asking questions and listening. I have some standard vows that are more spiritual than religious, and I also have vows without mention of God. If you want an officiant who is more of a Christian evangelical, I am probably not your best choice. I am very much a follower of Christ and a student of ACIM.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was a teacher and a principal. I have learned to be relaxed and comfortable in what many see as a stressful situation, standing in front of hundreds of people. I have now officiated well over two hundred weddings.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I sent off for a ULC minister credential over thirty-five years ago. My first wedding officiant job was for a friend. For laughs, I just added an ordination from the Dudeist Church. One of my all-time favorite movies is The Big Lebowski.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
A variety of people! Family, friends, and mostly folks I am meeting for the first time.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My favorite wedding was sharing the officiating duties with a rabbi and Buddhist officiant. I represented non-dual Christianity.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who speaks from the heart, not the head. Know that the amount I charge tries to cover basic expenses like transportation time and gas, preparation time, laundered clothes, and advertising. This includes the fact that a website like Thumbtack charges for every contact, whether it results in being hired or not. Most people will contact multiple officiants before deciding, which is not what a person would do when hiring for lawn care. I still try to keep my prices reasonable.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do you want vows that are traditional or very much your own? How much help do you need? Some people choose to have a family friend officiate. If you think of such an arrangement, please ensure you have heard this person speak publicly and know they can come from the heart. You may save money but be disappointed in the result. I witnessed a family friend fumble through a reading at a wedding. I could see the disappointing looks on the faces of the bride and groom. It can be a fantastic ceremony if a family friend has the experience. By all means, go with the person who knows you well. Otherwise, take the time to get to know your officiant; it will make all the difference in the world!
