Introduction

Call me a romantic, I believe in the spirit of love and the hope it represents. I have performed over 250 weddings, from small intimate weddings to venues with over 300 invited guests. Each one is Unique and SPECIAL. I will perform all weddings (traditional and same sex), vow renewal or commitment ceremonies. I'm ordained solely for the purpose to perform weddings; non-denominational, Christian. Judgement free. Member of local church. My services are not my primary income, so I can provide quality service at a lower cost. My fee is based on travel distance from my home, not the size of the wedding. For example: Wallingford/Meriden: $150 As a veteran, I offer a military discount, please let me know your military status when you request a quote.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have a flat fee based on travel distance from my residence (Ft Pierce or Wallingford) to officiate all weddings and vow renewal or commitment ceremonies. Fee's start at $150 for up to 10 miles travel distance. ** I offer a discount for fellow veterans and those still serving. Please be sure to let me know when you contact me** I don't charge extra for large venues or adding special ceremonies like Blending of the Sand; I do request that your ceremony starts within 15 minutes of the scheduled time out of courtesy to your guests and me.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I have a questionnaire that I forward to ensure the ceremony is tailored to each couples expectations. I am totally open to creating the wording to how ever you want, this is YOUR DAY. Once I create the wording, I share it in advance and encourage you to review and make any edits that you like. I don't require a pre-meeting, as I recognize that everyone is busy. However, I am more than willing to chat/text and meet if desired. Day of: I arrive 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time to review the set-up; perform the ceremony and after the exchange of "I Do's", I complete the license for the court clerk.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have both an undergrad and graduate degree and have taught as an adjunct at the college level for more than 10 years. I am very comfortable with speaking in front of and to people. I am ordained solely to officiate weddings, through the Ministry of the Universal Life Church, nondenominational. I am an active member of a local church community and definitely judgement free.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been interested in the service of officiating for quite some time and have thoroughly researched different types of ceremonies to guide you through the process. My background is quite varied: Retired Air Force Officer, Retired Health Director (civilian career) and Adjunct Professor. I affectionately refer to my current role as Officiant as "Happily Ever After". Not to worry, even though I am retired, I'm far from "old"; I am blessed to have retired early.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with both traditional marriages and same sex marriages. I even had the pleasure of having a dog in a Tux accompany me to signify the start of the ceremony.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I had the pleasure of meeting some awesome individuals, filled with excitement and love. This is truly why I enjoy performing wedding/commitment ceremonies. My career background is prior AF Officer, emergency preparedness, so it's such a refreshing change to be dealing with individuals who are happy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It can be awkward trying to find someone who you are comfortable with to be part of such a life-changing celebration via the internet. I'm a real person, dedicated to providing you the ceremony to your expectations. My fees are reasonable as this is not my primary income, price does not depict care and professionalism. I'm always open for personal contact via phone/text to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It's important to have some things already set: date/time. This is really important to ensure that I am available to secure your date. My fee is based on travel distance, so knowing the town/city is just as important, but the actual location is not. I forward a questionnaire to help guide the discussion as to the ceremony.
