What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Unlike many others here, my listed quoted fee is ALL INCLUSIVE!!!!! NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES for complete Officiant Services!!! My quote includes phone, facetime or skype consultation. I can provide information needed for obtaining your marriage license. Upon confirmation, many ceremonies will be sent to you for your review and choosing. Unlimited contact during the planning process always available. An email copy of your final Ceremony Script will be sent to you prior to your Ceremony. MY TIME AND TRAVEL IS INCLUDED ( within my service area which is from Fort Lauderdale north to West Palm Beach). I always arrive early. I write and perform the Ceremony. I complete, sign and file the marriage license paperwork and, a "Keepsake Marriage Certificate" is always included for my couples. I can offer a discount to Military Couples, Seniors, and can lower my quote for last minute Ceremonies, Ceremonies with just the Bride and Groom on a beach within 5 miles of my office or Couples from out of state just coming to Florida to be married. I will travel outside of my service area south to Miami or north as far as Stuart for an additional fee. Some circumstances can be negotiated.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My typical process for new customers is to have an in-depth conversation about the vision that they have for their Ceremony. I assure them that this is about “them” and explain the many Ceremony options that I can offer. Often, the couple is unaware of the many options available to them. With my vast experience of 1200+ Ceremonies, I can proudly say that I’ve done just about every type of Ceremony and accommodated just about every type of requests (including pets lol). I offer Beach Ceremonies, Sand Ceremonies, Candle Ceremonies, Shell Ceremonies, Rose Ceremonies and others. I offer options for Traditional, Contemporary, Faith based, Inter-Faith based, Non-Faith based and Same-Sex Ceremonies. I can also offer Family or Blended-Family options to include children if requested. I offer Catholic Readings, Prayers and Vows and Jewish Readings, Breaking of the Glass and Wine Blessing. I have also performed the traditional Filipino Chord and Veil and many other ethnic customs and traditions. Whatever is important to the couple can be included for a personal, meaningful and comfortable Ceremony. After discussing what options may be important to or requested by the Couple, I send many Ceremony samples to them for their review and choosing. I also offer information regarding the marriage license application process and can assist with those details, as well. After confirming my services with the Couple, I send them my “Confirmation of Details” confirming all details along with the Sample Ceremonies. I am always available by phone, text or email should they have any questions or concerns. I always email the final Ceremony Script based on the couple’s choices and requests prior to the ceremony for the couple’s final approval and for them to always have a copy of. I always arrive on time and early enough to organize the Ceremony especially if there is no event coordinator or wedding planner on site. After the Ceremony is performed, I complete, sign and file the marriage license paperwork and send an email copy of the completed license before it is mailed. A “Keepsake Marriage Certificate” is always included for my couples as a special remembrance from me to them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

There is only ONE form of training for this type of work and that is “experience”! Nothing can quite prepare you for all the lovely people that you get to meet from all walks of life and who are either Floridians or who come to Florida from all over the country and the world for a beach or destination wedding. Each couple is different. Each Ceremony is different. I’ve experienced so many requests, types of Ceremonies and emotions from my Couples in my vast experience that I consider experience as that the type of training that could not be offered anywhere. It’s priceless. Each Ceremony prepares me for the next and I look forward to the details. I am not that notary or celebrant who just “shows up” with a black book. I work closely with my couples regardless of how much time we have to prepare. Even if the request is for something “short and sweet”, I offer options for that as well even with a day’s notice. Should the couple wish to entrust me with the Ceremony script choice, I do my utmost to make sure it’s about them!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After having performed 1200+ Ceremonies, I can reflect that being an Officiant was something that always interested me. After 13 years of owning and operating a Children's Party and Entertainment business with 3 locations in NJ, I made the transition. I attended my niece's wedding about 12 years ago and was left feeling flat from the ceremony. I knew that after years of party planning and hosting events, that I could bring alot to a ceremony as far as it being more memorable and to reflect the couple more personally. I have been thrilled with my decision to get into this lovely business. I started in Nj and Ny and performed Ceremonies in every major venue there and then moved to South Florida 7 years ago. I have had the privilege of performing ceremonies at almost every major venue and every stretch of beach here and work with many event planners and coordinators and I am listed as a “preferred Vendor” at locations such as Benvenuto, The Crystal Ballrooms, Royal Fiesta, Lavan, Madison Green, Boca Dunes, Southern Palms, Sandhill Crane, and others.

I have worked with all types of customers. Young couples planning their dream wedding or trying to do it on a budget. Couples of all ages, faiths, beliefs from all over the world. Same Sex Couples. Couples with children. Second marriages, Vow Renewals. Couples from out of state looking for assistance in planning their dream destination wedding and many others too numerous to list. The best way to describe the common aspects of my job is ensure that your Wedding Ceremony is all you hoped it would be even if you were initially unaware of what you wanted. I provide you with the necessary information regarding obtaining the license and provide you with information about the choices and options for an unforgettable Wedding Ceremony experience.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I always have fond memories of all my Couples and feel it an honor to have performed their Ceremony especially when their review of my services expresses their complete satisfaction and happiness. I am especially fond of a recent surprise “Vow Renewal” where the husband completely surprised his wife! There is always something special about every Ceremony. I’m especially fond of receiving pictures after the ceremony and have received numerous pictures of their newborn babies! That is always a thrill. I am also fond of referrals. I love when I’m called back to do a family member’s Wedding Ceremony. Recently, I was called back to do the Mother of the Bride’s Wedding. That was pretty cool after having performed her daughter’s. Other fond memories include being “live streamed” to Greece, Australia & The Philippines for families of the couples to watch live.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should feel free to ask any question regarding their Ceremony from obtaining the marriage license to what Ceremony choices and options are available to them. The couple can ask what the Officiant’s process is for writing and performing a Ceremony. The Officiant should be able to provide answers to any question the couple may have and ask the couple for needed information so that the Officiant can provide them with options they may be unaware of. I am not "that officiant" that just shows up with a “black book" and recites some generic ceremony. There are some out there! Not me! Couples have choices for their ceremony and sometimes they are unaware that they do have choices and options and what they might be. From the initial contact to the performing of the ceremony and filing the paperwork, the Officiant should work closely with you for a meaningful, personal and comfortable Ceremony.
