Introduction

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I would love to be the sentimental spokesperson that performs your ceremony. It is always a privilege when I’m chosen to join couples into the covenant of marriage. I promise to deliver a customized ceremony that reflects your beliefs, values and relationships. My commitment starts with our first correspondence and really doesn’t end. (Many of the couples I have met, remain in contact with me after their wedding). My goal is to make your special day unique, fun and carefree. Please reach out to me to discuss how I can enhance your ceremony. (You must obtain your marriage license from the probate court. Wedding officiants can not issue wedding licenses. You must present your license to the officiant to sign in order to be legally married). Debbie

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Many officiants will quote you a price then add travel mileage cost to your venue. The initial quote I give you includes travel, there are no additional fees! I am easy to work with and am available to assist you in all your ceremony planning. I can help make your ceremony planning stress free and enjoyable. I will compose your entire wedding ceremony and/or assisting you in writing your own. I perform the ceremony, then sign and file your marriage license for you.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
After you have decided to hire me, we will talk by phone, facebook or in person. I will send you my contract. You will return the signed contract along with a deposit. The deposit will allow me to hold the date just for your wedding. I will immediately begin working on your ceremony. We will collaborate about the type of wedding you would like and discuss your plans and ideas for your ceremony. I will deliver drafts for you to review and approve of. You will have the opportunity to edit the drafts until it is exactly what you desire. You may change the drafts as many times as you like until one week before the wedding. At that point we should have the final itinerary completed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I became an Ordained Minister in 2010 and have been officiating weddings by word of mouth. I joined Thumbtack recently to reach more people. My main career is in health care. This has given me an appreciation of working with a diverse population of people. I also own an antique business which brings out my sentimental nature.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After performing my first wedding ceremony, I was hooked on creating memorable experiences for other couples.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work very closely with the bride and groom and their bridal party. I also collaborate with the photographer, DJ and the wedding venue.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I enjoy all types of weddings. Every ceremony is special and different. My favorite ceremonies are those where the couples inject their unique personalities and relationship into the service.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Choosing a Wedding Officiant is one of the biggest decisions you can make when getting married. You will want someone that is open to your ideas. Your Officiant needs to be respectful to your vision. Someone that is honest, friendly, caring, dependable, organized and professional. Someone that can guide you through the service, keep you calm and focused on your journey.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
You should consider if you like the Officiants speech and voice tone. Do you want a woman or man officiating your ceremony. Do you want someone older or younger. Is the Officiant willing to travel to your location. Do you have a date set? What type of wedding do you want? Religious, Civil, Humanist. Do you want symbolic rituals as part if your ceremony (sand pouring, unity candle, wine box, honey). Would you like extended family, children acknowledgement. What would you like the Officiant to wear. Is the Officiant willing to dress in line with your wedding theme. What services does the fee include (hours allowed for ceremony, travel, parking, ceremony composure, rehearsal).
