Introduction

I've been doing this for over ten years now and have over 150 satisfied customers. Most of my business is word of mouth, friends telling other people about my work. I work with the couple to determine what the best ceremony is for them -- and then we add in whatever special moments will make their day unique to them. I'm very flexible in creating ceremonies, readings, and events. If I have not done a particular event before, I will research it and come back with several options that might suit your wedding. I've done a number of unique venues including the Ferris Wheel downtown. Since this isn't my day job, I keep my prices lower than the industry standard. My main focus is providing joy to others. I like that people are always happy and excited to see me. I've not officiated at a wedding where it wasn't a joyous occasion. I have had couples come to me and tell me that many officiants will not conduct marriage services for LGBTQ couples. I do not discriminate -- all couples are welcome.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is among the lowest in the area. Not because I am not worth it, but this isn't my full-time job, so I perform weddings for the happiness it adds to my life -- not the cash.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm a school teacher during the day, so I'm practiced in making things run smoothly and on time. I can project my voice so that I can be heard in the back of an open-air venue. I also write for pleasure, so I am good with words, and the ceremony's script will be written just for you.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I actually received my license to officiate at my sister-in-law's wedding. She decided that it was taking too long and then I was stuck with a license that I hadn't used.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I provide a script for the ceremony, readings if needed and vows if requested.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I officiated at my brother-in-law's wedding, which was great fun.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for a professional person who is on time and responds quickly. I've done a number of weddings recently where the officiant has backed out. Be sure to ask about other charges which may crop up. Hidden charges add up.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
There's a lot to making sure the wedding comes off without a hitch. You need to know all the procedures and customs associated with a wedding.
