Introduction

You said 'yes'. Now it's time to say 'I do'. Congratulations to you and your fiancé on your decision to get married! It would be an honor and a privilege to officiate your wedding. The cost is $250 and it includes a one on one consultation with you and your fiancé and officiating your wedding with a customized, unique & memorable ceremony. I can also help you with the flow of your ceremony, the writing of your vows, and any questions you may have about obtaining a Marriage License in the State of MA or NH. I would be happy to speak or meet with you & your fiancé to discuss any other questions or concerns you might have. In addition, I can send you a sample wedding ceremony if you are interested in moving forward. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to earn your business. Regards, Roberta Without a doubt, my service is second-to-none. I will do everything I can to make sure your wedding ceremony is representative of you & your fiancé. I am sensitive to your needs, considerate, and I provide excellent customer service. There is no better feeling than being a part of a couple's official union- their 'happily ever after'. It is so gratifying and humbling to play an important part of their big day. Nothing feels better than receiving a thank you note from a couple after their wedding telling me how much they appreciated everything I did for them!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
While I typically charge $200+ for the consultation and wedding ceremony, it costs more if the couple wants me to attend the rehearsal (typically $85), perform a blessing during the reception (typically $50), if I need to travel an extensive distance to the wedding, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
No two couples are the same. However, when I am hired, I like to set up a consultation with the couple. I take them through the flow of of the ceremony and we start to talk about the things they want and envision for their wedding day. From there, I send them a copy of their 1st draft and throughout the process, we continue to tweak and adjust the ceremony. This process can take as little as a week or as much as a year.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Nearly 10 years ago, a close friend of mine got engaged and we were talking about her wedding plans. She had always envisioned an outdoor wedding and was thinking about finding a JP to marry her & her fiancé. From that night (after a few glasses of wine), we decided I would become ordained as a minister and officiate their wedding. From there, I would typically do a wedding every year, for various friends and family members. Earlier this year, I was laid off from my sales position. While searching for a new job, I decided I would invest more time into officiating wedding because I find it so rewarding. While I returned to my full-time job a few months ago, I've continued doing this because I love it so much. It may sound corny, but I still get choked up every time a bride walks down the aisle. It's an honor and a privilege to play a part in the start of a couple's life together. I hope to earn your business as well.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds. Religious couples. Agnostic couples. Interracial couples. Same-sex couples. Regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation, I am happy to work with any couple that is mature, is in love with one another, is looking forward to and understands the commitment that marriage requires.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently performed a baby-naming ceremony for a friend's baby girl. One of the parents grew up in a traditional Catholic family while the other was an Atheist. I was very careful to be respectful of the parents as well as their families. The ceremony was wonderful and the parents were so pleased with the way it turned out.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Weddings are expensive. Everyone is on a budget- I get it- I got married 10 years ago. But your wedding ceremony is not the place to 'cut corners'. Your ceremony sets the tone for your wedding day and to a certain extent, your marriage. It's worth spending a little more money if you truly connect with the person this is marrying you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long have you been doing this? Why should we hire you versus one of your competitors? Share with me the process that you go through leading up to the wedding. Tell me about a difficult experience you had with a client.
