What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I typically charge $240 for ceremonies at The Wedding Room and fees go up from there depending on the location/distance, if a rehearsal is needed, and how large the wedding will be.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will ask the date and time you are needing for your wedding, the location, if rings are being exchanged, if there are any special requests, if it will be inside or outside, and how many folks are expected to attend. From there we will proceed to taking a deposit and booking your special day!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am legally ordained through the Unity-New Thought Church and graduated from seminary with a certification in Celebrancy Practices in 2004. I have been officiating weddings since that time for couples from all walks of life: straight and same sex couples, Christians, Pagans, Atheists, Agnostics, etc.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been deeply spiritual. As a small child I enjoyed the act of ritual and carried that passion into adulthood. I eventually decided to attend seminary to specialize in celebrancy (the act of ceremony) and become legally ordained to perform weddings. I also perform Baby Naming Ceremonies, Croning Ceremonies, and Space Clearing ceremonies for homes and businesses.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I usually marry couples that are looking for fast and simple, yet meaningful. I see a lot of 2nd and 3rd marriages, military marriages, commitment ceremonies (which is a "wedding of the heart"-not legally bound by the state), same-sex couples, and spiritual, though not religious, couples.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

They are all uniquely special!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is important to be sure your wedding officiant is legally ordained in some states.
