Introduction

I value the right for all people to be legally marriedto their chosen partner. If you are a queer, LGBTQ, or otherwise minoritized person wishing to marry your partner, I am offering officiant services at half my normal price through the end of the year (2024). If that price is still prohibitive, message me and we will work it out. Let's take care of each other. Love is love. As a woman offering wedding officiation, I provide a flexible, personalized wedding service which is as traditional or as unique as you desire. I also offer weddings in American Sign Language, if participants happen to be Deaf/Hard of Hearing. I love engaging with couples to create a wedding experience which uniquely reflects their personalities, preferences and situation. I love to bring a caring, supportive, enthusiastic presence into the process of creating a the couple's "perfect day", whatever that looks like for them. Note: I rarely book weddings more than 6 months in advance, but if you want to request me for a date more than 6 months away, send me a message and we'll see what we can work out.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My base fee for a wedding is $100 with the ceremony I provide. Customizing the ceremony to fit exactly your ideas is an additional $25, and facilitating/attending the rehearsal ranges $25-$50, and travel can cost an additional $50-$150 depending on how far from Columbia/Fulton/Jefferson City area I have to travel. I offer pre-wedding consultation and counseling sessions as well; contact me for details and pricing! I do not usually book weddings more than 6 months out, so if you're planning far in advance, feel free to contact me closer to the day!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My new-customer process is as varied as my customer! Some people just need an officiant to show up, ready to perform a marriage, others would prefer to meet virtually in advance and carefully craft exactly the service they desire. I'm flexible, depending on the needs and the situation, but I always strive to be easy to work with, prompt in my communication, and fully invested in your needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm an ecumentical minister, serving primarily in the field of spiritual direction, and have completed the training program of Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, Washington, DC. I'm also a certified, licensed American Sign Language interpreter, which means I'm able to perform a wedding in either ASL or English, or a combination.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with a variety of couples, performing weddings indoor and outdoors, large and small, in spoken English and in American Sign Language. Weddings have spanned the spectrum from non-traditioanl and non-religious to very traditional and deeply religious. I am honored to perform gender-neutral or same-sex weddings, weddings for Deaf folks, and multi-cultural weddings. I am currently crafting a spanish language version of my ceremony.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It's important to find a wedding officiant who will meet YOUR needs, rather than placing demands on you. It's your day, your service should reflect who you are, and make you happy and not increase your stress.
