Introduction

I perform both Celtic & regular traditional or contemporary weddings. I work w/ you to create the wedding you want, either religious or not, formal or casual, large or small. Over 20yrs experience. *I can no longer do outdoor weddings during the summer. (Past Heat Exhaustion makes it too difficult.) Services start @ $50 for an in-Lincoln simple ceremony. Out-of-town services start @ $100 for the immediate Lincoln area. [=]

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I don't charge a fee. I accept a donation in the amount the couple determine to be fair.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet w/ the couple to get to know them a little & so they get to know me, while we discuss what their vision is for their ceremony. Together we work out what the ceremony will involve & be like. It's their service so I want it to reflect them & be what they want.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
MDiv. degree from Brite Divinity Sch. @ Texas Christian Univ. Ordination thru the Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) Over 24yrs of pastoral ministry experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I felt myself being pulled toward ministry in high school. Weddings have always been one of the most fun aspects of ministry, so I continue to perform weddings even though I'm no longer active in pastoral ministry.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked w/ all kinds of people in all kinds of circumstances. I've done weddings in all kinds of locations, times of day, weather & circumstances. For every couple, it's always about helping 2 people express their love & commitment to each other.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Meet w/ the officiant in person so you can get a feel for them & how you relate to each other.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask about the officiant's credentials. Where did they go to school, who are they affiliated with, what is their professional training & current standing. To be an ordained Disciples minister requires psychological testing, a 90 hr master's degree w/ supervised internship, mentorship, letters of recommendation, & passing a review committee's interview. It is not easy. It's not the same as getting an on-line 'ordination' or officiant license. That IS easy.
