Introduction

In 2012, my niece asked me to perform her wedding. I really enjoyed the experience and have been hooked ever since. I am passionate about bringing warmth, magic and humor to the day. Whether you are having a small elopement or a full ceremony with 200 guests, I have the expertise to handle any situation. I love adding the personal touch of writing the story of your relationship based on a questionnaire I send to both of you individually. During our initial conversation, I will lay out a traditional wedding sequence and go over any extras that might interest you. I will listen to your vision and then craft the perfect script for your approval. If desired, I will be present at the rehearsal and guide everyone through their part in the ceremony. I will always be available for questions, information or advice.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer a variety of fees. $250 for a simple ceremony or elopement. $400 for a full ceremony including the personal story of your relationship. $500 for a full ceremony plus my attendance at the rehearsal. $25 if the ceremony is over 60 miles from Saco, Maine.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will start with a conversation so that I may hear your vision and then describe what I can offer. I will write a contract and you send a $50 deposit. Next, I write the first draft of your script with choices for you to make. When I receive your answers, I'll write the final draft and submit it to you for your approval.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been performing weddings since 2012 and bring a lot of ideas, support and experience to our relationship.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In 2012, my niece asked me to perform her wedding. Of course I said yes then I panicked. I quickly learned about officiating and enjoyed myself. Soon, other family members asked me to do the same for their weddings. I realized that people really liked how I conducted my weddings so I decided to bring my services to others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have performed weddings where there were no guests and I brought the witnesses. Also, I am comfortable speaking at a ceremony with 200 guests as well.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, a couple wanted to be married on an island in Casco Bay, Portland, Maine. There were about 50 guests and we all took a water taxi to the island where chairs had been set up on the dock. It was a beautiful, blue-sky day and the everything came together perfectly. So lovely.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Be sure your Officiant is seasoned and has performed many weddings. Sometimes, timings go haywire, ring-bearers get waylaid, and microphones have loud feedback among other possible mishaps. An experienced Officiant won't be bothered and will know how to get things back on track.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask if there any extra fees, perhaps for milage or if the wedding or rehearsal go over an hour.
