Thanks for reading about me! I joined thumbtack.com about a year ago and I've been so very fortunate to be able to offer my services to the most amazing couples! I'm a female Ordained Minister in the Hudson Valley Region of New York. I've married couples beneath waterfalls, along the edge of the Ashokan Reservoir, overlooking the Hudson River, in a rustic barn, an open field and standing under a tree in the bride's childhood backyard! I love the Hudson Valley and will help you find your memorable spot or go wherever you need me too! I became an Officiant shortly after I got married in 2010 and am so happy I did! I've been able to perform the ceremony for family, for friends, couples that desire a non-denominational wedding and those from out of town who choose the beautiful Hudson River Valley as the backdrop for their special day. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Depending if there is a rehearsal I have to attend, or if I have to provide my portable sound system, and the distance I have to travel, it all plays in what the quote would be. However, I'm absolutely willing to work within their budget and discuss the price, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When I have a couple who is interested in having me officiate their wedding, we will begin with a phone conversation, if they're happy with the way it went, then we'll plan to meet in person at which time I'll provide a complimentary consultation. I always will leave with encouraging the couple to think about our meeting, give it a least a day and then we'll see if it's a go!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been a DJ / Emcee for over 20 years and feel comfortable in front of a large or intimate group of people. I've been married, I've worked with brides for many, many years and know very well that THIS is one of the most important days of her life! (yes his / her significant other too)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My sister-in-law married my husband and I and I realized that THIS is a very special and honorable roll to play on the big day and I realized that I want to provide this service!

What types of customers have you worked with?

Ones I've know for many years and ones that needed me at the drop of a hat and I know I'll never see them again, but I know they'll never forget the role I played in their wedding!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I'm currently planning for my niece's wedding and during the planning stage, it's very heartwarming to know that I'll be performing the ceremony of one of the most special souls in my life.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Work within your budget. It's about you and what you can do and never settle! When it comes to family and friends, everyone will have an opinion, but stay strong, it'll turn out to be an amazing day!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Their vision! I always ask my couple what their vision is of this amazing day.
