Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
$5 per Notarial Seal, travel fee outside of Richfield, Ohio is $1 per mile, round trip. If client is in a skilled care facility or hospital, there is an additional convenience fee for time spent and parking.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Let's have a call. Before we meet, I want to make sure you have everything you need to proceed, and I provide an estimate agreed upon fee. We will meet in a public place convenient for you. I'll authenticate your ID, once payment is made, I'll hand back your ID and were done!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have received my general notary training from Ohio Notary Services, and my Loan Signing Agent from the National Notary Association. I am a continuous student of the trade, and have taken further classes in Apostille Coordination, Document handling, ID Masterclass, RON Essentials Course and belong to several mentoring groups.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I always enjoyed in my professional corporate career, negotiating and creating contracts, and working with corporate attorneys. And I enjoy helping people. Becoming a commissioned Notary Public was a perfect match.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All customers are welcome, including seniors, those in hospitals, families, parent of minors, and businesses.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My favorite notary interaction recently was helping a family have their Mom sign her Living Will directive and Power of Attorney forms. It took a lot of time and encouragement, but I was delighted to help her and the family through this transition.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Notary work is beyond the stamp! Your notary should be more concerned about understanding the documents that need notarized, than the fee. Let's take the time to get this right the first time.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Understand whether you have all the documents prepared, ask any questions about the content of your attorney if you have one, and make sure you have a valid current ID. Look to see if your document requires witnesses, and ask your Notary if they can provide witnesses. A notary cannot notarize with any blank spaces on a document - be sure everything is filled out.
