I LOVE working with couples. My motto is: PASSION ABOVE PROFESSION! My service in ministry has afforded me the pleasure of developing my passion for officiating weddings. Officiating is an honor, as well as a great responsibility. A wedding is a celebration and a serious commitment. As couples prepare for their special day, I find enjoyment is helping couples process their ceremony beyond the excitement of the day. Instead, I help couples focus on how they want to remember their ceremony for years to come. The ceremony should reflect the couple's personality. A mixture of sweet, simple, humor, tender are just some of the descriptive details a couple may want to include in their ceremony. My passion is helping couples who want an intimate ceremony. The wedding service is about the couple. Couples have the opportunity to decide how they want to share their story with their family and friends. The joy for me is in CRAFTING EACH CEREMONY. I tailor the ceremony to meet the desires and dreams of the couple. Irrespective of the size of the wedding, from an elopement in a park to a destination ceremony, I support the couple where they are. Helping couples affirm their love in a tender, passionate, and spirit-filled celebration is my honor. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My price includes a tailored ceremony script. Distance (within a certain radius) to the location, attending the wedding rehearsal, helping couples with their particular needs are all considered in pricing.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer couples a free consultation to ensure we are a good fit for each other. Once a couple is ready to make a decision to allow me the honor of officiating their ceremony, we discuss the tone they desire for their service, the type of ceremony they are desiring, and ways to make it special for them. My focus is the ceremony.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am an ordained minister. I am also a National Board Licensed Professional counselor who specialize in couples therapy. I have certifications in trauma counseling and couples therapy.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I began officiating weddings as part of my responsibilities as an ordained minister. My passion developed over time by learning how to cater ceremonies to the couples personality, style, and desires without minimizing the sacredness of the ceremony. The need for quality counseling developed from the work I did in ministry. I saw a need and felt the void in ministry, I went back to school to become a trained counselor to meet the need and fill the void.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with couples of various backgrounds. From couples seeking to elope, small gatherings consisting of the closet friends, to large weddings with several hundred in attendance. No ceremony to small or too large. I have married couples in a church to a destination ceremony. I counsel couples, individuals, and families.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently officiated the wedding for a couple who wanted to elope. I provided soft candles, picture favors, and soft music for their service. While the couple was eloping, it is important to me that it felt special to them. My goal was to help build a memory that would last them a lifetime. The couple chose to get married in my office. It was a pleasure.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It would be beneficial for a couple to write out their overall vision of their wedding day. The next question the couple must ask when interviewing...”Does this officiant connect to our goals?” If they answer is yes, give yourself permission to know why/or how the officiant connect towards their goal. The chosen officiant should connect to the heart of the couples desire for their overall desire.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Having the right person to officiate your wedding is one of the most important features to your wedding ceremony. This person sets the tone for the entire ceremony - after all, they're the one doing 90% of the talking! Below are some suggestions for the couple to consider when speaking with their officiant. Are you available on my wedding date? Are you available to travel if needed? What type of weddings have you officiated? How many weddings have you performed? What is your ceremony style? Do you require any pre-marital counseling or religious class? Can you help me write my vows? What is your wedding officiant attire? Will you participate in the rehearsal? Would you like to join us at the reception? Can you do personalized rituals within the ceremony (rose ceremony, unity candle, or sand pouring)? What happens if you are sick or late? And finally, one very important question for you! How do YOU feel about this wedding officiant?
