Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Yes, and it is posted with Thumbtack. Traveling for the rehearsal adds additional costs, as does going outside of the 30 mile zone. I am negotiable, and if client use my services to plan and book their honeymoon, I do not charge a fee for officiating the wedding.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The customer contacts me with their date and time, their preferences, and we determine whether or not we are a mutual fit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have worked on over 20 years in education and over 15 years in other customer service areas, so I am quite versed at dealing with clients from all populations. I have been a travel agent for the past 3.5 years, and love assisting in making memories.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My first wedding was for my daughter and her husband. They did not want a church wedding, and wanted an officiant that would make it personal.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I started out by working with family and close friends. I have done a couple of weddings now with people through this site and I am finding it a very happy and rewarding experience.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Your wedding is a very special day--it should be all about you and what you want it to be. It is ok to ask questions and make sure that it is a good fit so that your dream day does not turn into a nightmare. There are too many things that can go wrong with wedding planning--finding the officiant should not be a chore. I want to make this part of the process an easy one; I am dependable, and I show up early, where asked, and ready to make your day amazing.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Also make sure that the officiant is listed on the state of Ohio website for wedding officiants so that the wedding is legal. It is OK to ask questions and request what an officiant wears or how they conduct themselves--it is YOUR DAY.
