Introduction

I help with creating your perfect service, including help with your vows if needed. We can also add in touches like Unity sand or candle, rose ceremony, hand blessing or even a fight box. Your ceremony doesn't have to be solemn, we can make sure that there are touches of humor, too. Together we will come up with your perfect ceremony. I do traditional and contemporary ceremonies, non-denominational, same-sex, handfasting, commitment, vow renewal. I specialize in same day, too. I also provide state-mandated counseling as part of the package which lowers the cost of your marriage license from $50 to $5. I enjoy being part of The Big Day. Every ceremony is different based on your desires and needs. Just the joy of participating is wonderful.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have started a new policy that a minimum of half of the fee is due upfront and is non-refundable. I have held the date open for many couples only to have them cancel a month or two before the wedding. In the meantime, I have passed on booking other couples that might have not cancelled. I also have adopted another new practice. Outdoor weddings after 10 a.m. from late June through September will have an extra fee for heat.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
In our initial meeting we go over the basic who, what, when, and where. We start the process of choosing type of ceremony needed, what extra components are going to be added in. We will also discuss vows and what help, if any, will be needed. I also included state-mandated counseling at no charge. This reduces the price of the marriage license from $50 to $5. It's just another way to help my couples.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am ordained and registered with the state of OK.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started doing this for friends and family members and it just grew from there. I love participating in someone's big day. While my part is small in the overall scheme, it is big to me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Gosh, where to begin. I have worked with people from all walks of life. I've also had brides that range from Bridezilla to extremely soft-spoken.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my more recent weddings had the largest bridal party that I have ever had, 10 attendants on each side. The story as to why is what made the wedding. Each attendant on the groom's side had been an influence on him at some point in his life. So touching to hear about them. Rehearsal took just a bit longer as you can imagine, but oh so much fun. When it was time for the wedding entrance everyone hit their mark perfectly.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure that they are registered in the state to perform marriages. Meet with them in person beforehand to make sure that your personalities mesh. Remember that you are in charge and have final say on how the ceremony goes. If they aren't flexible on that issue, then they probably are not a good match.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What does your perfect ceremony look like in your head? Do you want some humor or not? Do you want a mention of God or not? Does the prospective officiant have more than one type of ceremony for you to look at? Do they have different types of vows to choose from? How long have they been doing weddings? How many have they done?
