Introduction

I am a called and ordained Lutheran minister. In my experience, many couples would prefer for their big day a practicing minister, and avoid the J.O.P. or someone with an online certificate. With the support of my congregation I am happy to be able to offer this to couples. I particularly like getting to know the newly engaged couple and journeying with them from the initial introductions through the joy of the wedding day. It's great when a couple stays in touch with me beyond the wedding and invites me into other pastoral circumstances of their life and marriage.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All fees are negotiable. A typical wedding is in the neighborhood of $200. I am happy to officiate weddings that are away from my church building. For the couple seeking a traditional church building for their wedding, Saint John's Lutheran Church is worth considering for your occasion.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The process from introduction to wedding day is always unique for every couple. I like to begin with an initial consultation. I prefer to meet with you and your fiance' face to face, if that is practicable. If not, a phone call can suffice. During this meeting we will get to know each other a bit, and I will be able to listen to you tell me what your plans are for your wedding day. From this conversation I am able to draft the wedding ceremony that is specifically for you. After the initial consultation there are a couple of additional options that we can discuss. Essentially, I can provide whatever services you need to be ready for your wedding day.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a B.S. in Business, and a Masters in Divinity. I have received the rite of ordination within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was ordained in 2001, and began serving the church.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I’ve done weddings in vineyards, on the beach, at farms, in backyards, wedding venues, and of course in my church. Young, old, and in-between. Love knows no bounds!
