What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My $200 fee includes the trip, once, in Kingort. Additional fees based on mileage outside of Kingsport.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My 1st objective is to listen closely, and take notes. I prefer to plan for a great day, instead of hoping for one. I will develop the script, based on the needs of the customer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The best training for a wedding officiant is experience. Every wedding is different. My 20 years in customer service has taught me to be open minded, and flexible with ideas.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I got started in NY in 2019, after my son-in-law became ordained and performed a wedding for a family member. I thought this would be fun, and a good way to supplement retirement income.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have officiated weddings for all age groups, faiths, and beliefs. No two weddings are the same.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I do ask for 6 days notice to do a wedding. I like to learn about the couple’s personalities, and who’ll attend. That way I can customize the wedding script reflective of the couple, not me.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you’re looking to hire someone to officiate your wedding, you must be a good judge of character. Does the officiant speak well, and clearly? Do they smile, and are they mature. Like any customer service person, the officiant must be attentive and understand your needs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I always ask couples about their trust in each other. Can they put their mobile devise down, and not worry about their partner reading what’s on it. How are finances going to be handled? What are their views on religion, God, and faith.
