Introduction

My wedding officiant services stand out from others in several ways: I personalize the ceremony yet make it about the beauty of the union between two people and their families. I meet with clients before the ceremony (phone, in person, e-mail) to discuss and incorporate vows. I include other rituals: sand ceremony, rock ceremony, lasso ceremony, 13 coin ceremony, wine box ceremony, unity candle ceremony, and whatever specail readings or requests you have. I can provided vows in either English or Spanish I am also a professional photographer (A Captured Moment Photography) and will provide professional photographs at a very competitive price to capture all of the special moments (see a few of my photographs here on this site). We take great pride in capturing the special moments before, during, and after your wedding. Brent Rourk I love the interactions with people and being a part of such a special day and moment in the lives of two people and their families and friends.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Wedding officiciant/minister prices range from $125 to $295 depending on venue and location (travel). Photography prices are $195 per hour for one photographer, $225 for two photographers. All hours after the first hour are priced at $175 per hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
A telephone call to meet the customer and generate a comfortable and trusting relationship as well as a time for my client and me to ask and answer questions. Once a verbal contract is made, then a down payment is required. Additional phone calls, texts, and e-mails as needed round out further communication.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Yes, I have read extensively about couples counseling and different ceremonies to make a wedding unique and special. My many years of experience as a wedding minister/officiant and photographer have given me the ability to help virtually every couple.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
A very respected and successful friend who counsels leaders and families of Fortune 500 companies told with me about 20 years ago that I should consider becoming a wedding officiant for many reasons. Finally, thirteen years ago I did. Fifteen years ago when I began photography, I thought about family and wedding photography and eventually added that to my photography passions.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I perform a variety of ceremonies (and offer photography services) at many different locations: beaches, parks, open space, resorts, hotels, arbors, ball parks, the U.S.S. Lexington, churches, homes, and more.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Each job that I do, including the last few, are unique and require different skills, time, and insights. I performed a large beach wedding that was moved to a resort at the last minute because of high winds. It went off flawlessly. I also did a wedding on the beach where I was the only person there besides the couple. I needed to make it special for them. A recent wedding at The Chapel on the Dunes in Port Aransas was very special.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure that the person is professional, experienced, reliable, and compassionate. Make sure that the person can and will perform the service that you expect. Please take a look at my Thumbtack photographs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Clients should think through several questions: Wedding: Type of ceremony, additional rituals such as sand ceremony, winebox ceremony, whether they want a total wedding planner (I have excellent, experienced, and affordable referrals for a wedding planner), and their vows. Photography: Do you want it done by a professional who knows photography, is experienced, can get the best angles and poses, edits the photos, and places them on a jump drive for you? Spending a little more money on a professional wedding photographer is well worth the money.
