Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is all dependent on how involved the Minister needs to be. A short sweet ceremony such as an elopement costs less than a full wedding with rehearsals and special rituals added in to the ceremony. +$25 for add on rituals (e.g. Unity Candle/Sand) +$50/hr to attend rehearsal 100 miles round-trip are included in base price. Additional miles round-trip incur a travel fee of $0.50/mile. For example: Your venue round-trip from me is 300 miles minus 100 miles included leaves 200 miles X $0.50/mile = $100 travel fee.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet with the couple to get to know them. I would like to make their ceremony as unique and special as they are, I usually go over wedding scripts and any rituals the couple wants to be added to the ceremony.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm an Ordained Minister through Universal Life Church (ULC). I am also a technologist in Harker Heights, Texas. I have worked for my school district for the last twenty-five years. These years of service to my community have allowed me to experience many challenging situations, develop an understanding of differing points of view, critical thinking skills, as well as great customer service, and the attention to detail needed to work with a variety of people.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In 2013 my sister asked me to be her officiant. I did some research and discovered that I was legitimately able to become ordained and legally bind couples in marriage. I then performed weddings at the Inn in Salado and I have become the Minister for the Inn. I am branching out to Thumbtack to serve a wider community.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have work with customers all over the state and from all walks of life.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was able to officiate a wedding for one of my assistant principals. It was humbling to get to experience her day with the entire staff at my school.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Talk to your minister to make sure he will be a good fit for you and your family.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Do we feel comfortable with the minister? 2. What services does the minister offer? 3. Will the Minister cater to our faith or if different faiths, does the minister perform inter-faith ceremonies? 4. Is the minister's honorarium reasonable? Cheap is not always better.
