Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We do not have any hidden fees. We do require a deposit of 50% when the contract is signed, and the balance is due 10 days before the wedding. Elopements are less, only $150; if you have 10 or fewer people attending and just want a simple Ceremony, please let us know. *************

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I adjust according to the couple. For example, Couple "A" is very busy and want to discuss Ceremony details with emails and texts; so I respond to their emails and texts quickly. Couple "B" desires to meet in person to look at Ceremony options; so I meet them at a coffee shop, conveniently located for both of us, and we meet to hash out details. Couple "C" want it simple; so we have a conversation over the phone to finalize and answer any questions. I tailor to each couple to meet their needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I earned a Masters Degree in Divinity in 1997; I am ordained and have officiated at a variety of Wedding and Elopement Ceremonies non-religious, traditional, and spiritual. I regularly attend conferences and seminars to keep up with changes in Weddings, Wedding Signing, etc. I am very fortunate that I have been fluent in Spanish for two decades.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was a pastor for 20 years and loved officiating weddings. After I fell in love with my beautiful wife, Michelle, who also has 20 years experience in the Wedding business, I left everything and moved to Houston, and we started Brey and Co.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with LBGTQ couples, interracial couples, and the young and not so young. Everyone I have worked with has been genuine and wonderful.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, I worked with a couple who didn't think they had much to say when I asked if they wanted their Story told in the Wedding Ceremony. I sent them the questions which helps me generate a 2-5 minute sermonette about their Love Story. The sent their responses back, I crafted their Story and presented it at the wedding. I looked at both sets of parents, as I was telling their Story, and they had tears of joy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Hire a professional who is engaged with you, and interested in what you want in the Ceremony. Take time to look at the profession's reviews on other platforms.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is included in the quote? Are there hidden fees for travel? If the wedding starts late, how long will the officiant stay?
