Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My price has barely gone up in the 30 years I've been doing weddings. Now THAT'S a great deal! lol However I do add $20 per travel hour to your total cost for fuel and time if your ceremony is more than 20 miles out Austin.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want to sit down with both the bride and groom to get a feel for what they want and to discover who they are as a couple, and as individuals. I take what I've learned in the time together and integrate it into your service to make it specific to the two of you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am an ordained minister with BA's in Religion and Music, as well as a MA in Education. I've been in full time ministry since 1990.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I followed my dad into ministry, despite him begging me not to do so. But I was called to it, and I wouldn't do anything else. It is both a challenge and encouraging.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have been performing weddings for years and enjoy being part of such an important day in the lives of those participating. I've married people from their late teens, to those remarrying later in their years. It's an honor!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I love the joy of a wedding day. I enjoy adding a calming touch, often with a jovial attitude, that helps the moment be enjoyable, rather than full of nerves and jitters.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you "click" with the minister you choose so that they will reflect a positive and upbeat service for you on your special day. Find someone who will not just give you a "cookie cutter" wedding, but one who will make it special and about the two of you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What do you want to know about us as a couple? Do you have any specific things that bother you during a ceremony? Are there things you are not ok with during a ceremony? How do you get to know the couple well enough to add a personal touch to the service?
