Introduction

Whether you're planning a formal church wedding or an uber casual ceremony in a back yard (and everything in between), I'm your guy! I am recognized by the State of Texas - as well as any other state in the Union - as an authorized wedding officiant and am glad to offer my expertise and services for your occasion. As an ordained Christian minister I have been performing weddings in all kinds of settings and for all types of couples for over 20 years. Although I specialize in Christian ceremonies, I am also able, if needed, to handle Courthouse style - just the vows, please - weddings. Please contact me if you need to know anything more specific. I'm full of all kinds of answers!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The price quoted is my flat rate and includes everything. It is based on how far I will have to travel and the time that takes. No surprises unless I am surprised by a venue that charges me for entrance or parking. That, I will have to pass along to the client since it isn't possible for me to anticipate those costs in my quote.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
While each client is different, wedding ceremonies all have certain similarities. I try to gather the information I need from my couples in a careful and respectful manner. Upon request, I will provide a sample ceremony on which to build using the input from my clients. Most all communication is handled by e-mail, although I am also willing to work by text. I do not mind phone calls, but I prefer to have things in print available for referral later on, if needed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Officiating a wedding does not require a lot of education or training. What is does require is sensitivity, reliability, and the ability to listen.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After having been ordained (about 20 years ago) I was asked by a co-worker to officiate at her wedding.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked will virtually all types of clients: friends, children of friends, referrals by friends, new faces, upper and lower economic strata (and everything in between), and officiated at ceremonies in churches, parks, back yards, beaches, country clubs, hotels, and even one in a field of bluebonnets!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Officiating a wedding is not like remodeling a home or designing a custom landscape plan. I am fond of all my wedding ceremonies but none of them take very long.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find somebody who doesn't try to dictate to you how your wedding ceremony should be handled. Hire someone who is flexible and can "roll with the punches." Avoid anyone who suggests you should be subject to his or her determination of your suitability for each other.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It's officiating a wedding - not rocket science. If you want to get married, all you really need to know is: 1. Is the officiant available? 2. Is the officiant willing and legally able to do the job? 3. Is the officiant affordable?
