Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
As an Ordained Minister the average cost to officiate a wedding is $263.00, according to the Bridal Association of America. What I have done is provided a breakdown cost of 20 guest or fewer, and 50-100 guest or more than 100-200. These fees include a charge of mileage fee of 30 to 50 cents a mile to travel to the wedding location. These price includes unexpected last- minute surprises.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Generally I like to schedule and discuss the specifics of your desires for your wedding. I’m personal and open to questions that you may have to ensure you feel comfortable. This way after we meet and you look at my recommendations, you can determine whether I’m a good fit as your officiant.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’m a Seminary Graduate with a Master of Divinity degree in Children and Family Ministry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Honestly, I got started officiating weddings basically from talking with a dear friend of mine who happened to be a co-worker. At that time he was a wedding photographer and asked me why I wasn't using my gift in the ministry in officiating weddings. He stated that there are many opportunities out there for me. He stated that people he had come in contact while doing his business for weddings were in of a need an officiant. He said if you give me your card, I can pass it on. So I did what he recommended to my first client now I love it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with a diverse community and have worked as clergy from various faiths. It’s about creating a special dependable wedding service.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My recent project was a wedding where mask had to be worn due to the COVID 19. It was simple and beautiful wedding in a park under a Gazebo. My couple were young and in LOVE. They had their parents there, family and friends. It was a small party of 10. But so inmate full of excitement and gratitude. I knew they were looking for a Christian wedding Officiant and I was happy to bless them. And to be free to talk about how good God had been to all of us during this pandemic. I will never forget this ceremony. It blessed me.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I enjoy working with couples and having an eye for details. With my experience as an Ordained Elder, I use my natural and creative side to fit their personality requests. My extras for you tiring the knot, is to create a special day to make your ideas come true. Whether you add a broom to jump, a divinity braid, the sand ceremony, the candle unity, doves, ribbons, butterflies, and bubbles, Those with us in Spirit, or to have communion. I help to specialize what they envision.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
As a Christian Methodist preacher there are doctrines I must adhere to, The African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) believes that marriage is ordained by God as set forth in the Holy Scriptures. The AMEC strictly prohibits and forbids any AMEC clergy person, licensed and/or ordained from performing or participating in or giving any blessing to any ceremony designed to result in any pairing between persons of the same sex gender.
