Introduction

I am an ordained minister in Fredericksburg, VA and licensed in the state of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington DC. I listen to each couple's needs and desires for their special day and customize their wedding for a day they will always remember. I send samples of weddings I have performed so you can tailor it to yours. We also offer a small venue for your wedding ceremony to include a pagoda and seating for up to 50 people. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Base fee of $225 Pre-marital counselling sessions $50 each If I need to attend rehearsal $85

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I email the couple that I am available and offer to send samples of weddings I have performed so you can make changes or make it your own by adding eliminating wording and sections. Once we settle on a direction, you can send me a $50 deposit to secure the date. I usually travel to your location but also have a small area at my home I have performed weddings.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Master's degree in education Ordained Minister with 36 years experience

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I love working with people and hearing their needs and desires. I started out as a teacher of special needs and volunteered working with youth at my church. I then became a youth minister and was ordained in 2013. I began performing weddings and funerals after my ordination. I love listening and helping couples make their wedding special.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Young couples who are just starting out to older couples who are renewing their vows or ready to start a new commitment after a divorce or empty nest.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I can plan months in advance and during the Covid pandemic I have been hired for next day weddings. I usually have lots of flexibility.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I think that most couples want their day to be special and simple. Hire a professional who can help you navigate what you prefer and has the flexibility to make needed changes to accommodate you and your family as well as your budget!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make sure you understand how to get your marriage license and timing so you can have your wedding within your county and state's deadline. Ask if the professional is licensed in the state you are getting married. Each state has its own process. Try to nail down your date, time and location so the professional understands what they are committing to when you ask them to officiate your special day.
