Starting rate: $75+/hr + materials. Located in SCOTTS VALLEY. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Severity of repair, or complexity of build. If I need to supply materials or if they do. I charge hourly + materials. Then any driving is a charge for miles driven, plus half rate of my time. And medium+ sized material orders need to be paid for in advance. I do not front any cash on materials.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I’ll ask what they’re wanting done, what my thoughts are on the plan, give my input, give my initial idea on possible longest timeframe to complete, then communicate throughout the process of what I’m doing and encountering.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Took basic welding classes at Cabrillo College, have expanded experience via hands on with personal project and small side gigs.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Fabrication interest for car projects. Friend connected me with a restaurant that needed repairs and have decided to step into the realm of repairs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Small businesses; restaurant and animal care. Individuals needing repairs or modifications to household goods.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Race car fabrication for a 2006 Pontiac GTO, and 2010 MB C63 AMG.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I can’t give exact job quotes, and will tell you what the longest possible time it’ll take to do the job, while staying completely transparent about overall timeframe and what I’m doing. You’ll always have open communication.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What their budget is. What their budget will allow me to do. When they need it by. And what they’re looking for in finished product.
