Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer discounts. Senior, military and first responders.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
It depends on what the customer needs. It usually starts with an email, text, or phone call. Then we schedule a time for me to come come and give an estimate. Sometimes people just call and ask how much it is to do this project , or they might say they need my help right now. Whatever the customer needs, I try to be accommodating to their needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I graduated from Clearfield Job Corps center in Clearfield Utah in 1999. I took welding and auto mechanics.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve been in this trade for 20 years. I got out of Job Corps and 2 days later I was building a feedlot in Atwood Colorado. After 2 decades, there’s not too much I haven’t encountered.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Home owners, car owners, contractors, facility maintenance providers, entrepreneurs, prototypers, and folks that just need something repaired.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I’m currently helping an entrepreneur build a mobile bar. She got a horse trailer that she’s converting into a mobile bar/ catering service. She hired me to do 2 phases of the conversation for her. So far I’ve we’ve modified the structure by cutting open one of walls where the bar top will be. Turned the back doors into one door that also has a bar top on it. Reinforced the walls, and closed off windows and doors on the opposite side of the service openings. All this took about 18 hours. Right now it’s being painted. After that, phase 2 begins.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you’re hiring a professional. A lot of what I do is fix what was obviously the lowest bidders work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think your project through. You want to have a clear vision of the end result. Fine details! If you want some little intricacies, or any fine details, be sure to let your pro know right up front. It can end up costing a lot to go back and do rework.
