What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Due to the custom nature of our business, a full, written quote will be provided once we have a clear, mutual understanding of your goals and we have done an initial site visit.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

At Vader Custom Fabrication, our process includes a brief phone introduction where we'll set a date for our initial site visit and ask questions to better understand your steel work project. After our site visit, we'll work with you to create a visual representation of the work we'll be completing, and be able to provide a customized quote. Once we've agreed on price, timeline, and design/materials, we'll begin fabrication and work toward installation.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked with a number of custom steel fabrication customers that include small business owners, private individuals requesting residential steel frame construction, and homeowners needing fencing, handrails, and decking. We have also worked in partnership with building contractors to complete steel support structures, pre-fab steel building kits, and accessory structures.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

One of our most recent jobs was for a "whole house" installation of stairwell hand railing, loft safety railing, a custom steel wine rack, and steel shelving accents. We started with a blank canvas, measuring for each project and creating a design concept that would flow through the entire house. Once our client approved the design and materials, we set to work. After 2 weeks of on site and in shop work, we were able to provide our client with fully custom, stylish, metalwork pieces that matched beautifully throughout their home.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't be afraid to ask questions of your fabrication team. We do this for a living, and certainly don't expect you to know anything other than what you'd like your end project to look like. Start looking for a pro as soon as possible-even something as simple as a short, straight fence requires materials ordering/receiving, fabrication time, and install. Anything from a late shipment to the weather can delay the process. Stay patient, and trust that at Vader Custom Fabrication, we strive for quick, successful execution in every job.

A short list of excellent questions for your custom steel work project would include : -Have you done this before? -What potential challenges do my site and/or my vision present? -When is the best time of year (realistically) for us to achieve this? -Once we agree on our price/terms/project, how soon will you be able to finish?
