Introduction

I opened this Envision Estate Planning to bring relationships back to lawyering. The initial planning is just the start. We focus on developing a plan that works for you and the people you love. I do not believe in one-time transactional events. My process includes how you leave behind your intellectual, spiritual, and human assets. Our process builds a foundation for leaving behind a legacy of love while keeping your loved ones out of court and conflict.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We believe in transparent pricing and open communication. All our services are based on flat fees, which we'll discuss with you in detail during a free/no-obligation consultation. We understand that every case is unique, and we want to ensure you get the right solution for your specific needs. Therefore, we don't provide exact fees before the consultation. To show our appreciation for those who serve our communities, we offer 10-15% discounts for seniors, first responders, military veterans, healthcare professionals, and teachers. We're committed to building strong relationships with our clients, and we're confident that our pricing will be fair and competitive

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We start by getting to know you and your needs. We offer a brief 15-minute Discovery Call to provide an overview of estate planning, explain our process, and answer any initial questions you may have. If we both feel it's a good fit, we'll schedule a free, no-obligation consultation. This is where we'll dive deeper into your specific situation and discuss how we can help you achieve your goals. To ensure everyone's time is respected and appointments are kept, we kindly ask for a credit card number to hold your consultation appointment. Rest assured, this is only for scheduling purposes and no charges will be applied unless you cancel at the last minute or fail to complete the pre-meeting intake process.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a licensed attorney, having graduated from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2018 and been admitted to the Massachusetts Bar that same year. My legal journey is enriched by a background in non-profit services, where I developed a deep understanding of working with people and supporting communities. This experience, combined with my academic foundation – including an undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and graduate work at Johns Hopkins and Southern New Hampshire University – has shaped my approach to legal practice. For the past two years, I have dedicated myself to specializing in estate planning, receiving comprehensive training from a seasoned legal mentor with over 30 years of experience. I am also trained in The New Law Business Model, ensuring a modern and client-focused approach. This combination of legal expertise, community engagement, and a commitment to client-centered service allows me to provide exceptional guidance and support in navigating complex estate planning matters. To provide the most comprehensive service, I have built a strong network of specialist attorneys in areas like business planning, elder law, and special needs planning. This allows me to address the unique needs of most clients and ensure they receive the best possible guidance.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
The experience of losing a close friend during COVID, who passed without an estate plan, deeply impacted me. Witnessing the challenges her family faced during the probate process, especially with dependents at home and the immediate need for financial resources, was incredibly difficult. Her husband had to prioritize work over grieving and caring for his family. This experience ignited a passion in me to help others avoid similar situations. I felt compelled to specialize in estate planning, ensuring families have the peace of mind and support they need during difficult times.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've had the privilege of working with a remarkably diverse range of clients, from young adults just starting out to seasoned individuals with extensive life experiences. My youngest client was 18, and my oldest was 87, demonstrating my ability to cater to various life stages and needs. My clientele spans across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and extends internationally, with clients hailing from countries like France, Haiti, Portugal, Brazil, China, Cambodia, Canada, and the Netherlands. I've even collaborated with co-counsel and reviewing attorneys in Massachusetts to serve clients with out-of-state ties, showcasing my adaptability and commitment to providing comprehensive legal support, regardless of location or background.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One project that I'm particularly proud of involved a family who was facing a devastating situation. Their parents were involved in a serious car accident, resulting in the loss of one parent and the incapacitation of the other. The family was in dire need of access to their parents' resources, but they lacked a power of attorney. Working closely with medical professionals, we were able to temporarily adjust the incapacitated parent's medication, allowing them to participate in a crucial meeting. We quickly developed an emergency estate plan, providing the family with immediate access to the resources they needed. This not only alleviated their financial stress but also prevented the need for a lengthy and costly conservatorship process, allowing them to focus on healing and supporting each other during this difficult time.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Choosing an estate planning attorney is a crucial decision that can have a significant impact on your future and your loved ones. Here are some key things to consider as you embark on this process: 1-Define your needs: Think about your specific goals and circumstances. Are you looking for basic estate planning, or do you have complex assets or family dynamics that require specialized expertise? 2-Seek referrals: Ask trusted friends, family, or financial advisors for recommendations. 3-Research potential attorneys: Check online reviews, professional organizations, and bar associations to gather information about attorneys' experience, expertise, and client satisfaction. 4-Schedule consultations: Meet with several attorneys to discuss your needs and get a feel for their approach and communication style. 5-Ask the right questions: Inquire about their experience, fees, and communication process. Don't hesitate to ask about their approach to client education and their commitment to keeping you informed. 6-Don't solely focus on price: While cost is a factor, remember that you're investing in peace of mind and the security of your legacy. Choose an attorney who demonstrates a deep understanding of your needs and a commitment to providing personalized and effective legal guidance. 7- Most Importantly, Trust your instincts: Choose an attorney you feel comfortable with and who you believe will advocate for your best interests.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Here are some key questions to consider before meeting with an estate planning attorney: 1-About You and Your Assets: What assets do you own? (real estate, bank accounts, investments, etc.) What are your debts? (mortgages, loans, credit card balances, etc.) Who are your beneficiaries? (the people or organizations inheriting your assets) Do you have any special needs beneficiaries? (children with disabilities, etc.) Are there any charitable organizations you want to support? About Your Family and Wishes: Who are the people you want involved in your estate planning? Are there any family members or friends you want to exclude? Do you have any concerns about potential conflicts among beneficiaries? How do you want your assets distributed? Do you want to appoint a guardian for minor children? Do you want to create a trust to manage your assets? Do you have any specific wishes for your funeral or memorial arrangements? About Your Health and Legal Capacity: Do you have any health concerns that could affect your ability to make decisions? Do you want to appoint someone to make medical decisions for you? Do you want to create a power of attorney to manage your finances? By thinking through these and other questions, you'll be prepared for a productive conversation with your attorney. They can help you create a plan that meets your specific needs and wishes.
