Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Depending on the type of window, I charge between $7.50 and $12.00 per window. I prefer to look at the job and provide a free estimate when possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Estimates are free! I prefer to take the extra time and go to your place and take a look at the work you want done, then give you the absolute best price. If you live farther out, please take an accurate count of your windows. Let me know how many on each floor and what type of windows they are, especially if the have storm windows on the inside or outside of the main window frame. All this information will help me give you a more accurate price. I seldom change my price and I don't want to short myself. With me...you will always win!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I take the opportunity to serve you very seriously. I have a Bachlor Degree in Business Management and I have been certified by the International Window Cleaning Assocition (IWCA) for High/Low Rise Window Cleaning.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Just out of high school in 1985, I was working at a fast food place and part of my responsibilities was to wash windows every morning. One morning a window washer was drinking his coffee as I did my windows. When I was finished he said to me, "do you want to wash windows and make a lot of money? Go see Ed Kolenda he will make you a rich window cleaner." I fell for it and I have been trapped ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with many different types of customers. Some are very rich and others are obviously on a budget. In every case, I choose to provide the best price in order to repeat the business 6-12 months later.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Have a conversation with the contractor and listen to them. You can tell who knows what they are talking about. Have them come out and give you a free estimate. Take the extra time to you know who your dealing with and that they can get the job done.
