Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have mailers that are going to a variety of zip codes and on them are discounts! Maybe your home will be one of the lucky ones :-) My pricing is competitive as I frequently do comparative market analysis studies.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The customer can either work directly with me or my call center. The call center is a great resource to handle incoming inquiries through my website or lead generators, especially when I am out in the field and not directly accessible. Once contact is made with you and your information gathered, we will build a proposal and send it via email to you. I can be available for on-site proposals and information gathering if you prefer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a master's degree in education and used to be a high school teacher. I also used to be a regional sales manager for a local corporation, and I managed the SE United States. I now own my own business called Window Hero East Cincinnati because I wanted to serve my community and help add value to my neighbors and various community members. I have close to 100 hours of training and my technician has around 30 hours of online training as well as field training prior to being a lead technician.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I wanted to own my own service-based business and bring value to my community. I have always enjoyed pressure washing and the look of clean windows. When you have the right equipment...it makes the work that much more enjoyable.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Window Hero services both commercial and residential properties and we currently have both in our portfolio of clients. We work with wealthy residential customers as well as middle class customers like me. We work with realtors helping list their clients' homes, as well as other service-based referral business, such as maid services, roofing companies, interior cleaning and servicing, etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
There are a number of them. We did a house washing recently and the customer hadn't had the house cleaned...ever. There was 20 years of growth on the siding and it was looking really green and black. Pretty gnarly to say the least. For a $400 investment into their home, the home looked brand new when we were done and saved them tens of thousands in new siding! The customer came out and said, "Oh my God! My house looks brand new! I never thought it would look like this again." She gave us several great reviews and has been on her neighborhood Facebook page singing our praises. She helped land us a few more jobs so far in her neighborhood. That job took about 2 hours!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Go with someone you trust and makes you feel comfortable. My mission is to provide value to my community members and make them feel great about their decision to hire me. Remember that the money you are spending on exterior cleaning IS NOT a waste of money. It is a small...very small, relatively speaking investment into your home. Would you rather spend $30,000 on a new roof? Or a few hundred on a roof wash that will buy you a dozen or more years with your current roof? Would you rather spend thousands and thousands on a new driveway, or spend a couple hundred to have it pressure washed and give you more years with the same driveway? It's pretty simple to me!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What other services does the professional provide at a fair price that I could just go ahead and have done while they are already here?! At Window Hero, we will quote you the service you are looking for, but will also give you pricing for the other services we can provide you while we are already at your location. People generally add services to the proposal when we send it to them because they realize the pricing is affordable and they might as well just get it done. It's one less thing on their "to do" list :-)
