Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I try to be fair with my pricing and upfront. I don’t have any hidden fees and I do not try to upsell my customers on every little thing. I’m honest and down to earth. I guarantee all my work as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I arrive on site at or before the time I say I’m going to be there, introduce myself, and will generally do a walk around with the customer just to make sure we’re on the same page with everything being done. I will make any recommendations needed at that time based off what I find in the walk around. I will let you ask any questions or address any concerns at that time. Then I get to work. I start by setting up my equipment, covering up any outlets needing covered, moving whatever furniture or potted plants that were missed by the customer, I will wet down any vegetation so that they do not absorb any of our products (which are industry standard and environmentally friendly as possible), I’ll wet down any surfaces if needed, pre treat areas if needed, and begin working. Once completed I will consult with the customer again to ensure they are completely satisfied with my work, collect payment, and then pack up and head home.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am constantly researching and learning new techniques and procedures to help improve my business. Whether that be the proper way to clean a wood fence, or new window cleaning techniques. I’m always looking to improve myself. I experiment with new products and techniques on my own home and family/friends home before I even do anything new to a customers home. I’m apart of many social media groups and associations that keep me current on all the new and improved products and proper techniques.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been a commercial tire technician by trade for a long time and needed a change. A good friend successfully started his own Softwash business up north and he helped train me until I mastered the skills necessary to start my own successful business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Mainly residential home owners but also some small commercial customers as well.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently completed a large pressure washing job that took most of the day, but was well worth the effort after the end result with all the moss and algae removal that was done. Seeing a happy customer who is amazed at the difference in their home after I've completed my work, is the best part of my job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice would be to support small family owned businesses. In my opinion they tend to do better work sense they have much more to lose then larger corporations. Another tip is to make sure they are licensed and insured. Most customers don’t know this, but platforms like this the contractor has to pay a substantial amount just to be in contact with your the customer. So make sure when you do contact a contractor that you are ready to hire so that they are not having to suffer the financial burden of these platforms. Contacting a contractor directly is always best and usually leads to better pricing since we are cutting the middle man out.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Providing an address or pictures of the project is a huge help for the contractor. This gives us a good idea of what to expect and will allow us to give a more accurate quote. Again these types of platforms the contractor has to pay just for you to contact us, these expenses can add up quick and we are charged regardless if we hired or not. It is very helpful to all contractors that you consult us directly or at least be prepared to hire and book the job.
