I prefer shooting outdoor sessions. I have a small mobile traveling studio, that i use for newborn photography, or when i travel to a business. I have a hand full of great location ideas. I have but a mere second to capture a moment in time; a moment that infuses excitement or wonder into the imagination of those in gaze. This is where (for me) I draw the line between what's real in the world, and what is superficial. It's a place i enter, where i see the world from my hearts perspective. I take pictures. I capture memories. Whether the memories are of products, places, or a moments in time, I want to make the most of the opportunity, to create art that gets noticed.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer a discounted rate for Thumbtack customers. The package includes a custom private ONLINE GALLERY. The ability to DOWNLOAD and OWN all of the images in the gallery. Gallery's hold approximately 60-300 images per hour of shooting, for outdoor portrait sessions. I also offer ADDITIONAL detailed EDITING, that will be applied to 3 images. I will travel within 15 miles of 86351. Any additional travel will have an additional fee. Galleries for any project were I’m working with a mobile indoor studio, weddings, newborn, sports, products, events, real estate and commercial photography can hold approximately 5 - 1000 images per hour of shooting. Detailed editing can be discussed separately. Product/commercial/business marketing. Quoted out separately. Please contact me. Discount rates available for outdoor sessions, during weekdays and at a specific location i prefer shooting at. Per request. I recommend multiple outfit changes for most type of sessions. My booking rates include permission for a commercial use of images, for promotional material for Lisa Garrett Photography.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I feel successful photo sessions happen when there is good communication. I listen to what the customer wants. Then i give recommendations on the best way to achieve the results they want. I feel it's important to work together to achieve desired results.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started studying photography back when film and the dark room where necessary. Digital had not arrived on the scene yet. I starting shooting for fun, while traveling the world. This helped me develop an eye, and an understanding of lighting. Later in life i decided i wanted to shoot photography as a living. So i enrolled into a 3 year photography program. I also study on line with Creative Live. Having a background in performance, professional dance, modeling and acting, i have experienced what it feels like to be in front of the camera. I understands the importance of creating an environment where you feel relaxed; where natural moments can arise and your personality can shine through. I understand the importance of having professional images…images that will be used to promote yourself, your product and your craft.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I shoot just about anything. This allows me to have a variety of clients, from business owners, to artists, to entrepreneurs, family's, bride, groom, ect ect.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently shot a new born session that was unique and fun. The parents wanted to incorporate multiple sports props into the shoot. This was fun for me because it was a collaborative effort. We came up with some great ideas together. This was a 2 hour session.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would take into consideration the lighting, during the time of the shoot. For example, if you were planning an outdoor session, the time of day and where the sun is located in the sky would have a huge effect on how the images would turn out. For an event or a party, if part of the event will be indoors, you will want to hire someone who can bring a speed flash. This is also true for an evening event. For any type of indoor, home, or business session. I would recommend the photographer bring in mobile lighting, soft boxes, ect. Also plan on using a space that will have room to hold a few lighting stands. A photographer can bring multiple lenses to a shoot. Each lens provides a different effect and perspective. You can ask the photographer what lens they would consider using and why? What type of effect do they want to create? I would also be clear in communicating your editing preferences and style. Understand that most product photography requires quite a bit of editing. There are usually small dust particles and uncontrollable lighting reflections. You can consider using a product box. If you need the colors to be 100% accurate, you can see if the photographer uses a color checker.
