Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is set at a flat rate unbiases whether it be a spinnet, upright or grand. Price may depend on when your piano was last tuned. Check out my blog where I take a deep dive into this very topic.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically I ask some basic questions about your piano. Type, last tuning, and how long you have had it, are all keys working. If you do not know the answer to some of the questions I ask it is no problem. All the information just helps me when I come and tune the piano to get an idea of what I need on the day of service. This also helps me give you a baseline price of what to expect on the day of service.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I apprenticed with an experienced Technician out of Fort Wayne for over a year. I also graduated from world renowned Piano Technician academy. In addition I am an active member through the piano technician guild.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My whole family are music educators and musicians so naturally I was drawn to music myself and play multiple instruments. I needed my piano tuned and asked the question of what goes into piano tuning. I found a local tuner and started an apprenticeship. I ended up loving the work and after some more education I started my business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with first-time piano players of all ages to prestigious universities and concert venues.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
