Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The way JAT does pricing is actual very different than the average moving company. Many companies price off a hourly rate. This can be great for some moves, but what JAT believes in is a set rate. There is a couple reasons why JAT chooses to do moves off of set rates. As stated later in the answer section of our profile JAT offers free estimates to customers. This is so Jimmy the owner can give the most fair price possible. Using the experience Jimmy has gained throughout the time of moving he can come back and give an estimate for how long the job should take. This also, comes at a one price lock meaning the price will never change on the customer. The only time the price can change is if the customer adds more items or destinations to the move which is stated in the quote. Why does JAT do this? Simple, for safety of the customers items and the promise of the customer receiving the fairest price. With hourly rates companies may want to take extra long periods of time to make more money in their pockets. At JAT we move at a quick enough pace that the move gets done at a fashionable time, but we like to take our time in the sense of making sure none of you items are damaged. This also, offers the fairest price to the customer because it causes less worry that the company is taking too long to make more money or moving too quick which will could cost you the safety of your items.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
At JAT we do the same with every customer. The owner Jimmy Tilton will have a first phone call with the customer to get a better understanding of what they are trying to do and make sure it is feasibly possibly for JAT. Then Jimmy will schedule an in person free estimate. This is to make sure that Jimmy can see all the parts of the move and give them the best and fairest possible estimate possible. From there if the customer accepts (a rather easy to follow quote) Jimmy and his crew will come out and complete the move at the desired date and time that the customer requested at the quote!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Every worker at JAT has gone through extensive on the job training and at least a full year of moving experience. All workers have been fully background checked and will all be able to answer any of the customers needs or wants.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As a college graduate during the pandemic I realized that there was a market that had opportunity. The problem with moving companies is two things: they are too pricey and they are unreliable. When I started JAT I wanted that to be the exact opposite. We try to give you best price every time and will always give you the best service. Every phone call down to last move is done by Jimmy Tilton the owner and will have you feeling like you are doing business with an old friend!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We at JAT have worked with all different types of customers from old to young and everything in between. Every customer is given the same exact experience and will be treated same. Our goal at JAT is to meet the specific needs of each of our customers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of our most recent projects was one of a many that JAT has done. All moves are done within one day unless very rare circumstances. Our most popular and recent project is a full service move from one location to another. This process can take as short as 4 hours to as long as 10 hours but JAT makes sure to never leave a job unfinished! We pride ourselves on moving at a quick enough pace to get the job done efficiently but slow enough to make sure your items are not damaged throughout the move.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone you can trust! Moving is a very stressful process and for most people it is a huge life changing decision. There are so many aspects to moving that can cause stress so why not find a company who can take as much of that stress away? You also do not want to worry about worst case scenarios of moving companies capturing your items or any of those other nightmare situations. The best advice is finding a company who is going to give you their best work and just be honest from start to finish.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Have an idea of exactly what you want done and how you want it done. As stated before honesty is the best policy and that goes for both ways. Any job that a company can walk in and see exactly what the customer is trying to do is going to make the moving process easier for both sides and most likely cheaper. Companies also have to make sure they are covered so when there are a lot of questions about the job prices may rise. Being honest and having a pretty good idea will go a long way and make the whole process easier. A lot of people want to skip steps so they can be better prepared, but this ends up just causing more stress for both parties so my best advice would get everything lined up before talking to a professional.
