I love to transform spaces with color and I love the process of turning customers’ ideas into reality! I truly take pleasure in the work I get to do.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I typically start around $1,000. Beyond that my pricing is not straightforward, sorry! I have to consider SO many factors like the size of the wall, the texture of the wall, how difficult is it to reach the wall (are there bushes in front?), how tall of a ladder I need, how long the design will take to paint, how many colors are needed, and MORE to know what to charge. That’s why good photos of the wall and surrounding area, OR an in person visit are so important.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet in person where the mural will be so I can get an idea of the surrounding environment and talk face to face about what vision my customer has and what they want the mural to accomplish. Then I collect the design fee and get started designing. As long as there is no rush I take about 3 weeks to create an initial design. Then I meet either over Zoom or in person to get feedback and talk about adjustments the customer would like to see. Once a final design is agreed upon we set a date to start the actual painting and I collect half of the remaining payment. There are many factors that go into how long the painting part actually takes, but I do my best to accommodate the customer’s needs. When the painting is complete I make sure the customer is happy and I collect the remaining balance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I took many art and art related classes in college, but as you know, school never fully prepares you for real life. The real learning has been through mentorship and years of practice! I have “go to” places to learn whatever I need to know about working with new materials and surfaces.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I actually learned to paint becoming a professional face painter. From there I started painting windows after learning about it online and eventually moved towards walls and more permanent art (most of the window art was seasonal and temporary)

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have done a little bit of everything, from nursery murals, to farm silos, to small businesses, to medical settings.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently painted for an in home daycare. The design was a fun combination of their logo plus something fun for the kids that brightened up the room.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Definitely think about what your budget is. There are lots of creative ways for me to design according to your budget! The next important thing is what you want the mural to accomplish. Who is it for? What’s the goal? What mood do you want the mural to set?
