Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Fees are based on a few things. Experience - Education - Time I have over 20 years of Personal Training Experience. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education K-12 and a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. Based on the approximate time I spend per client, my fee covers the average time I spend with each client. Some clients need more attention and some need less. Online Fees: I offer a discounted monthly price for a longer commitment from the client - 3, 6 and 12 months. I also offer a second discount for paying in full for the amount of time committed to - 10% discount for paid in full contracts. In Person Fees: The training sessions are very competitive. Therefore there are no discounts for the hourly rate. The option is always to pay month to month or for several months in advance. There is a 10% discount for paying annually for the agreed number of times per week of training if paid in full.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically, I offer a FREE 1st consultation via zoom or google meet. An intake/assessment form is emailed to the client prior to the consultation. During the consultation, a plan is devised to attain the client's goals as quickly and safely as possible in the time allotted to reach them. Nutrition or training programs are then sent to the client and the work begins. I offer one 30 minute online meeting per month and (2) 15 minute (optional) check ins. Clients can email 24/7 and they will be assessed on a monthly basis with a weekly weigh in expected.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been a full time personal trainer for over 20 years. I have earned a BS in Physical Education and a MS in Kinesiolgy. I have several training certificates including - CPT/NASM, CPT/NSCA, CSCS/NSCA Prior to becoming a full time trainer, I served 7 years in the military and 10 years as a police officer and trained police cadets in an academy for 4 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been training since high school. Every job I've had entailed physical fitness. In the Army, I was the weight control NCO for my unit. In the police academy, I developed and implemented the physical training for the entire cadet corps. Moving into full time training was a natural progression.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would recommend that you find someone you connect with for such a personal goal as improving your body. Chances of your success rely on you sticking with someone you trust who helps you not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Committing to change is hard enough. You don't need to make it more complicated or stressful than it is already.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I would ask yourself, are you serious about wanting to make a change. Once the mind is on board, the body will follow. Also, people in my profession do what we do for 2 reasons. 1. We love helping people! 2. We love to help people and be able to make a living at it. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our clients successful. But, understand that this is our livelihood and our reputation. We will do our very best and that will come at a price. Also understand that the price for being unhealthy and unhappy is almost always more.
