Introduction

Queer friendly. By day, I’m a graduate-level couples counselor-in-training, so I’ll probably prompt you with connective questions 🥰 Being in front of a camera can an emotional and anxiety provoking experience! I work hard to make you feel comfortable and genuine. It’s springtime in Montana, y’all! Capitalize on our brief green season :) I offer free 15-minute consultations through my portfolio site. Please read below about my approach and philosophy as a photographer! Although I’m happy to provide guidance and recommendations, I see a photoshoot as a highly collaborative creative endeavor between me and you. Come to me with your visions. We can make it come to life together! And if you don’t have a vision, that’s okay too - I’m here to help tease it out with you. If you “don’t like being photographed”, you’re not alone, and you’ve come to the right place. It’s vulnerable to be in front of the camera, where you’re asking me to ‘see’ you, and to capture you the way you want to be seen. I don’t take that job lightly. I aim to ease the tensions and connect with you so that you feel as natural and comfortable as possible. I’ve got a diverse portfolio - from business’ website promotional photos (clothing lines, self-care brands, welding, etc.), real estate properties, couples/engagement announcements, save-the-dates, surprise proposals, family holiday cards, small weddings, corporate parties, graduation shoots, and individual creative projects - I’m so grateful that my hobby takes me into such fun and unique spaces with people…try me! I focus on natural light and natural emotion. I don't shoot in a studio or with a flash. My studio is everywhere, and I love playing with natural light. My prices are intentionally more affordable than most. Your photographer fees should not cause you financial stress. A photographer’s job is easy: Capture the spirit that is palpable on a photoshoot day. The industry is saturated with fancy shooting that I believe adds extraneous fabricated emotion. I shoot with my camera, equipped with a few different lenses. I aim to capture the emotion that’s already present, and I don’t charge an exorbitant fee for that. Although I will ensure we capture all the posed photos with all combinations of people you want captured, I consider myself more of a documentary photographer, and it’s so beautiful! I work with Adobe Lightroom for post-production to make sure the final product is sharp and clean cut as intended, and only send the best ones, to avoid cluttering your inbox. I provide a link to a downloadable Adobe Lightroom photo album within 2 weeks of your shoot, sooner for short/basic shoots. I've been a hobby photographer for about 8 years, and slowly started taking photos mostly for family and friends' special events. Jan. 2024 commenced my first year formalizing my practice with freelance work. I love being able to use my favorite hobby to bring joy to people, and so I'm here to work with all budgets to provide you with high quality photos of the special people and moments in your life.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I try to have options to reach all budgets. If you can't find what you're looking for in my current price options, reach out to me and let me know what you're looking for. I'm sure we could make it work!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I keep it simple. I’ll call you to learn what your vision is and (for events) how photography fits into the flow of your day. I'll get a sense of what you're looking for to ensure I will meet your needs. We'll schedule the shoot, sign a contract, and then I'll see you on your day!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I apprenticed 1-on-1 with the owner of Rocky Mountain School of Photography (Missoula, MT) for 7 months in 2017. Ever since, I have been capturing special events and pet/people photoshoots for friends and family. In my free time, you can find me honing my shooting and editing abilities, because I feel more at ease with a camera in my hands!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been drawn to photography since I was a young teenager, and finally invested in my first digital camera in 2017. A chance meeting turned into the fortunate opportunity to work with an incredible mentor for 7 months, to learn everything from composition, how to capture natural light, to the mechanics of a camera, and everything in between.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Family or group photo shoots; headshots; couples shoots; Event coordinators of all kinds! Fundraising galas, anniversary parties, reunions, weddings, vacations, or any good party!
