Introduction

Hi! I’m Allison, my friends & students call me Rallycat. I’m a local yoga teacher best known for my down-to-earth, unfiltered vibes - both in and out of the studio. Your yoga practice here is exactly that - YOUR practice. Whether you're a beginner looking for a safe space to learn the basics, someone looking to squeeze an impactful practice into their day without the hassle of getting to a studio, or a group looking to celebrate a special event, I will curate the vibe with intention in order for you to take what you need from this practice. Slow flows, restorative stretching, sweaty vinyasa, mindful meditation, or somewhere in- between - I got you. Let's chat about what you'd like to get out of our time together! The physical practice of yoga is not about how you look (talking to you, my “but I’m not flexible!”, friends 😜), it’s about how you feel. So no matter if you've never stepped on a mat in your life, or have thousands of hours of asana under your belt, I invite you to come wildly, unapologetically as you are. I’m so stoked you’re here! Some housekeeping: - Bring your own mat or I can provide up to 10 for a private party - In-person and Zoom services both available

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We'll have a quick initial phone call where I'll ask you to share some more details about your experience level, what you'd like to accomplish together, preferred scheduling, and give you the opportunity to ask me any additional questions. Then if you're ready to book, we'll get our first class on the calendar!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
200 HR Yoga Teacher Training: certified in comprehensive teachings of Asana, Pranayama, Philosophy & Meditation (Fall 2023) 6 week, 50 HR Advanced Teaching Mentorship (Spring 2024) Studio Experience: currently teaching Power Vinyasa at Yoga Haven in Point Loma on Monday nights at 5:50 pm 15 years of personal practice experience :)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After practicing yoga for 15+ years in various forms and all around the world, from California to Bali, I stumbled solo into a yoga retreat in Todos Santos, Mexico that changed my life and perception of what i thought yoga was. Through thoughtfully designed flows, journaling, connection exercises, and empathetic conversations, I was guided to find and break through my physical, mental and spiritual edges. This allowed me to surrender to the present moment in a way I never had before, and find answers to questions I had been avoiding. I shed unexpected layers, grieved, celebrated, and found the courage to make hard life leaps. I found freedom in my heart and came home to my wild, authentic self. It was from Todos Santos that I felt the pull to join this sacred lineage of yoga teachers and share the impact of this practice with others. It is now my absolute privilege and joy to hold space for others to journey home to themselves, like it was (and continues to be, through my incredible mentors) held for me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have experience with all ages and all levels!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Before you select a teacher to work with, make a list of your own expectations and preferences. What kind of personalities do you mesh well with? Is there something specific you want to get out of working together? Do you prefer a more calm or energetic energy? Yoga is a personal practice and you should be comfortable to be yourself and let go around your teacher. Communicate these expectations and don't be afraid to ask questions about their style and philosophies!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
See above answer, but additionally: - What makes you stand out from other teachers/ the unique value you bring? - Why do you love teaching? - Do you have any "house rules" I should be aware of, as your student?
