Introduction

Award-winning, ASCAP-affiliated composer. Piano and Music Theory. I specialize in Classical repertoire and pop/standards-jazz piano improv (aka cheating, faking, ad-libbing, freestyle), based on chordings, voicings and individual creativity. 17 seasons with San Franciso Opera Chorus, 8 seasons with Lamplighters Music Theatre (SF), as well as producing and directing with other theatrical companies. Lessons in your home, within 25 miles of my home in Half Moon Bay, CA. Adults 20 and over, only; no children. I'm cordial and easy to get along with. Everything I do is based on fun and having a good time. My motto: Don't do stress. Fee is $50 a session, which is usually at least an hour. Should we go a bit over, there is never a surcharge. Lesson fees are paid in cash only.

Have been teaching for over 40 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Have been singing, acting, producing and directing for over 40 years. My original shows have been presented in fine arts concert halls all across the country. Artists I've managed and represented have performed in North America, Europe and Asia.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Primarily adults and young adults with some training, but have also taught beginners. I don't work with anyone younger than 20.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

"Oh Mr. Sousa!" the musical bio of John Philip Sousa, has a cast of 8 singing actors and a concert band of 22 players plus band master. It was presented in the Fine Arts Presenters Market all over the country between 2004 and 2012.
