What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

At MK Performing Arts, we combine the latest research in vocology and vocal science with an individualized approach — helping professional singers and beginners find real, tangible improvements in their voices. By using the foundations of vocal technique, and song repertoire, we help students get the most out of their voice. Our methodology is built around a personalized roadmap that helps vocalists achieve technical and artistic mastery. That's why the very first lesson that you book with us is about capturing your artistic profile: this includes baselining, goal setting, and targeting specific problem areas. In other words, our method stems from capturing the full picture - creating long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our teachers have years of experience teaching voice and acting and hold a degrees in some of the best performing arts programs in the world. Teaching styles from classical to pop/rock, RnB to musical theatre. At Michael Karl Studio, our vocal and acting coaches help performing artists grow in skills and confidence, so artists experience the joy of art on any stage.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I am an Atlanta- and New York-based actor who has performed professionally since the age of 10. In 2016, I moved to Atlanta to continue my career in TV/Film and the performing arts. Shortly thereafter, I opened up a private, in-home studio for coaching voice, acting, and audition preparation. My passion for teaching is derived from seeing my student's experience those "aha!" moments and breakthroughs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My students come from diverse backgrounds - such as musical theatre, classical, opera, pop, R&B, jazz, country, rock, and even public speaking. At MKPA, we specialize in helping students of all ages (from 6 years to 65+ years) and backgrounds discover and express their voices in the most efficient way possible. The singing lessons and vocal coaching that Michael Karl Studio offers in our Atlanta-based studio are private singing lessons, vocal coaching, beginner, intermediate, and advanced singing lessons, vocal workouts, and master vocal classes. We work with professionals and beginners alike and have developed a comprehensive program to address all singing levels to achieve a better, clearer sound quality through our vocal coaching. We also offer acting classes which include private acting lessons, acting coaching, acting seminars, beginner, intermediate, and advanced acting lessons, and master acting classes. In addition to acting and singing lessons, we also provide audition preparation courses and masterclasses for dance and college auditions.
