NOW AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE/VIRTUAL WEDDINGS IN NJ, AND PA (travel fee applies to NJ). VIRTUAL WEDDINGS ARE NO LONGER LEGAL IN NYS.
I DO NOT USE PHONE OR EMAIL FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY UNTIL LATE NIGHT - PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL LAST MINUTE IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM ME WHEN IT ISN'T MY BUSINESS HOURS.
ALSO, I WORK IN A PLACE WHERE I CANNOT USE MY PHONE, SO I CANNOT ALWAYS ANSWER IMMEDIATELY - IF I TELL YOU I CAN DO SOMETHING, I CAN, DON'T WORRY IF YOU DON'T GET AN ANSWER TO A QUESTION IMMEDIATELY.
I started doing weddings in 2007, and I have done around 1,000 weddings since then. I go out of my way to be friendly, personable, and give personal service rather than just cookie-cutter weddings.
I am flexible on pricing to a loss for me, but always give the best service no matter what. I love to travel, so I don't mind traveling far to serve you. In the past I have traveled as far as South America and Europe for weddings.
I love performing weddings and delivering speeches at other events. Serving others and making people happy is a great source of satisfaction.

I am an ordained Minister/Wedding Officiant. services with contemporary ceremonies from 11 different denominations.
Your wedding day should be a reflection of all the love and laughter that makes you a couple. As an officiant, I want to help you create an environment at your wedding, where your guests will see a little of the magic of how you met and fell in love. With a little help from you, I can create a wedding that is personally designed and uniquely written just for your wedding day.
Heres how your personal wedding gets started. Call me or send me an email and I will set up a consultation with you, I will take your information and create a ceremony that will make your wedding day personal and heartfelt.
I have enjoyed helping couples create a ceremony that reflects their values and intentions for their life together. Im comfortable with large or small weddings, with inter-faith marriages, and with those who want a spiritual but not necessarily religious ceremony.
I believe that couples choosing to get married should have the opportunity, if they wish, to participate in the creation of their own wedding ceremony. I have a lot of experience in helping couples find ways and words to honor their spiritual values and create a ritual that has meaning for them. Sometimes the ceremony looks very traditional and sometimes it is less so. In all cases, I strive to create a mood and atmosphere that is sacred and heartfelt but not stiff and uncomfortable.
LGBTQ ceremonies as well .

Make your wedding a memorable and joyous experience that deeply reflects who you are, and the love and dreams you share with each other. As a wedding officiant who is also an ordained interfaith minister, I work with couples of all faiths and beliefs, to design and perform wedding ceremonies that can be either spiritual, religious, humanistic-secular, nature-based, or other themes, including mixed-faith relationships - whatever the couple experiences as true for themselves.
Your wedding ceremony can be very elegant and elaborate, or very simple, or anywhere in between depending on your wishes. The actual content of the ceremony comes from our discussions. We can be as creative as you like!
Soy bilingüe. Puedo realizar la ceremonia en español o inglés o ambos.
My services as a wedding officiant include the following:
- Initial introductory conversation and ceremony overview
- In-depth initial meeting with couple to discuss wedding logistics, details of ceremony, personal faith and beliefs, the joys and challenges of your relationship, marriage beliefs and goals.
- Design and creation of ceremony.
- Completion and mailing of your marriage license
- Performing ceremony
Apart from wedding preparation and officiating, I offer premarital assessment and counseling for couples to address special issues and challenges, or, if no specific challenges. KI offer preventative experiential education workshops on topics including mindfulness and awareness, communication and conflict resolution, finding individual and couple purpose, and navigating life changes.
My fee range for wedding preparation and officiating is $325 - $425, depending on the time, travel, and complexity involved. I officiate weddings all over New England and eastern NY State during the months May-October, and in North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee during the months November-April.
50% deposit is required at time of signing of written agreement which spells out all commitments by me and you. The balance is due on the day of the wedding.
I am glad to answer any questions that you have. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
Reverend Joy
(Rev. Gary Shapiro)
