Introduction

My ceremonies are always personalized. This is your day and your ceremony should reflect your story. As one of the happiest days of your life, there's always room for laughter in my ceremonies. Laughter is balanced with formality and sincerity. My fee is all inclusive and can include an informal interview meeting, attendance at the rehearsal event and of course officiating at your wedding! If you are eloping and there is no pre-wedding interview or rehearsal event - my base price can be significantly reduced. I have been married for over forty five years. I believe in marriage and commitment. It is an honor for me to work with couples who are entering into loving and respectful relationships. I enjoy the excitement of each wedding and bearing witness to love at its best!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is all inclusive. It includes travel to the "interview" meeting, the rehearsal and the actual wedding. There are no additional costs. If your wedding is very small, an elopement or does not include the interview meeting, the price may be reduced.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet with couples prior to the ceremony. During this "interview" I ask some key questions about your families, your courtship and why you want to spend the rest of your lives together. It gives us an opportunity to discuss the ceremony in detail and how we can make it uniquely yours. Once hired, I like to stay in touch with the occasional email - I like to be available to answer any questions or concerns and to offer support and encouragement. The planning of a wedding can be a busy and stressful time! I like to help keep that at a minimum.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
For over 35 years, I worked in student services at a local community college. I worked directly with students, staff and the general public and was heavily involved in event planning and production. It taught me to be a team player and a good listener, two skills that re important in the planning of a wedding.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As a "youthful" retiree, I missed being of help and service to people. A friend of my oldest son found himself in need of an officiant. I became certified, officiated at his wedding and found a new calling. Having been married for over forty five years, I believe in love, marriage and family. Becoming an officiant is a natural extension of my basic core beliefs. This is a new chapter in my life and I am loving every minute of it!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Young, old, same-sex! Big weddings (250+) Small weddings (2 - I brought my husband along to be the witness!)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would advise them not to make a decision based on pricing. I think it is important to make a "connection" with your officiant. Your officiant should be personal, professional and experienced. You should make sure the person you hire is listening to you and incorporating your ideas into the ceremony.
