My reviews say more than anything I could to convince you I'm the right guy to officiate your wedding, but if you still have questions, here's what you need to know... I'm a professional wedding officiant and non-denominational minister, which is a little different from your uncle or bishop or neighbor who happens to also be ordained to officiate weddings, and even different from the justice of the peace at City Hall. I've officiated over 700 weddings since the beginning of 2020, and that experience is what makes me unique. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I'm located in Salt Lake, but will travel to perform your ceremony, we just need to chat about time and cost if you're too far away. My base fee for ceremonies is $200; $150 for an elopement; $100 for a rehearsal; $50 for a speaker/mic (if needed); as noted we may need to add some $ for travel if you're too far out of Salt Lake County (my home base); and I'll video your ceremony at no extra charge. Let's talk about your needs, I'm sure we can figure out pricing.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I am committed to working with my clients to customize the ceremony so you get exactly what you want. Most times the best way to accomplish this is to jump on a call or Zoom meeting, and discuss the details. I'm more than happy to work with my couples in advance of the ceremony to ensure all expectations are clear.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been a professional speaker and teacher for more than 20 years, and received my ministry certification from American Marriage Ministries in 2016. I have a Master's degree in English, so writing vows is something I'm really comfortable doing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started by performing my sister's wedding in 2020, and loved it so much that I started looking for ways to stay involved. OrangeBird Officiants grew out of that, and I now perform 150+ weddings every year.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I've worked with casual customers (t-shirt and jeans), formal customers (tuxedo and white dress), small groups (just bride and groom and 2 witnesses), large groups (100+ people), local (I'm in SugarHouse), abroad (as far as Vernal, Logan, Spanish Fork, Zion's National Park, Moab), and remote (St George, Florida, and even Spain and Cambodia via Zoom). Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

In February 2021 I was lucky enough to officiate for a Florida couple who had flown out to get married in Zion's National Park. We hiked to an outlook and had the ceremony with breathtaking views, very memorable.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would say be sure you see eye to eye with the person performing your ceremony, find someone with the right energy. There are a lot of personalities out there, I'd advise you to be confident you are working with someone who shares your same spirit.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

How much experience do you have? What would you recommend for vows? Will you be getting video of the ceremony? And if so, will you make that available to us? How much do you charge? What does that include?
